I figured I'd post this. For now, if we could use the following naming system for consistencies sake, that'd be very useful. We can change it later if we decide to do things like combine all figures of the same name under a single article or something of that ilk.
[[SW1/1 Battle Droid|Battle Droid]]
The "["s are for linking them to articles with the name before "|". The "|" makes the link have that as its name. If we decide to change it (again), we could get rid of the rename and just have the series 1 Battle Droid say SW1/1 Battle Droid rather than simply Battle Droid.

I actually prefer the naming to be consistent with what's on the rear label. Like S2 Obi Wan Starter is more easily clarified as simply S2/35 Obi Wan Kenobi rather than all that jazz. I would also either entirely omit the rarity from the link as it is an afterthought when one is looking for a specific character, which again can be denoted by series and number on the back of the figure's label.
There's my 2c worth, as if you go into all of what you describe, it becomes far more confusing and less useful as the rarity and other identifiers (such as Attacktix Class/Faction) would better be suited on the individual figures page.

Another user chimed in as well: For example, there are two General Grievouses in SW Series 2. It'd really be best for the naming conventions just to be the universe name, the series number, then the figure number, probably separated by dashes ( e.g., SW-2-24 for striker Grievous and SW-2-39 for launcher Grievous). With malform's database, these figure identifiers should be easy enough for people to access, and it'll prevent people from being confused later on down the line. Plus, they're guaranteed to be unique, and they take less typing. EDIT: Already reconciled.
