Anyway, if I'm reading it right, option 3 it is. However, my gut instinct is that defeated figures, after resolving, should go to the "owners" defeated area. IIRC, this is how that has always been handled in CCG's...and the reasoning is not so much an "in-game" one, but one of memory and logistics...does putting a figure you control but don't own in your defeated area make it more likely you will walk off with it on accident when the game is over? I'm thinking yes. Actually, from the S2 CD-ROM, it would appear that the Captured figure goes into its controller's defeated area, not the owner's: Man, how I miss those CD-ROMs. I think the memory issue is more significant in the CCG arena, where all playing pieces look exactly the same, though I don't have any data onhand that would speak to such an issue. Nevertheless, I could probably put together a research proposal to test this theory. I'm not sure where it'd be publishable, but it'd be darn fun to try And HE's the guy who has the Ask Webhead thread AND makes the powers.....we're in for it now! ;D

Heh...well, there's a reason I'm historian for at least one professional society I tend to delve through all sorts of materials - after having kept them around, much to my wife's consternation. The thing that I love about those CD-ROMs is that they allowed Hasbro to provide more text about how special powers should work than the limited space on either the base or QSG's limited paper could hold. From my rules-fanatic perspective, their loss in the starter sets is the one I feel most.
