I just picked up the TF starter set (I kept passing on it until I saw that it came with a bonus repainted Decepticlone. Wierd that that was the selling point for me... not like I don't have enough 'Cepticlones) and man do I love Skyblast. He's deadlier than Scorponok! What I wonder is - is he Tourney legal? I can't imagine why he wouldn't be, but I thought I'd seen someone mention that the starters or something about sets being not legal. Did I imagine that?

Skyblast is definitely legal to use in tournaments (as are all figures from starter sets).
As mentioned above, generally only Megas are not allowed in tournaments.

It's a Wal-Mart exclusive, the TF1 and SW4 starters come with bonus repaints, a red and white Decepticlone for the TF starter and a white armored Clone Trooper with green details for the Star Wars starter.

I like prodders. His prod seems really strong, but he and Ransack are the only prodders I have. Still, I knock over anyone I hit with him every time. (I guess I should admit I've only played against myself) I don't remember his speed, though... is that why you guys don't like him? Don't listen to thier dissing, Skyblast. I'm here for you.

Skyblast is a figure to be respected. I've been known to lay waste to many TF/SW/M figures with that character. If you don't like him, it's because you fear him!

Plus, think about this - Two Robot modes and two Vehicle modes in play with one of each in back-ups means you have powerful prodders and shooters, and if one goes down, you can bring the other in. Skyblast in the wrong hands, yes, sadly, is a joke, but in the right hands (or should that be the REALLY wrong hands? ) can be as deadly as SW series 4 Vader...

Err...only if those hands are horribly, horribly wrong for SW S4 Vader. I'd endorse your statement the day that I see Skyblast fling a figure across a table to take out three other figures
