I just got a box with a recently purchased item off of Ebay today and inside was none other than Transformers Series 2 Checkpoint! Checkpoint has the exact stats described in the previews: 20 points, 6 speed, medium base, small missile, specialist, Autobot. His power is Capture: Trooper with a 23% chance of activation. He, like Rodimus, has two sweet spots of 8 speed. Unfortunately, my darned battery died on my camera so the only picture I have is the cruddy one that is below. As soon as I get the battery charged, however, I'll post more pictures. Let the hunt begin!!

Wait... so did you buy a Transformers S2 Booster on eBay, buy a box o'tacktix on eBay and he showed up, or was someone just selling Checkpint as a single?

The guy was selling it as a single. I asked what the other figure was and he said it was Galvetron who he wasn't planning on selling.

Haven't had any S2 sightings sent my way yet (although I did see an Origins Spider-Man starter at Wal-Mart today).

See, Grievous! This is what Karma is all about buddy. I get the tournament set and you were all like "Oh, I am so jealous". Now look at you! You get to be the first one of us who actually got the Series 2 TF's. Kudos to you my man! ;D
I give you +1 Karma (exault) just for your temporary pain.
Where did the person that you won the auction from live?

Alright, I just got home from being out all evening and took another, closer look at the "Checkpoint" that I got. I was so excited when I got him that I didn't notice some oddities and the fact that I had to leave minutes after I got it meant that I couldn't get a good look at him. Now that I've done so, I'm getting a bit suspicious. First, his power isn't Capture: Trooper but Recruit: Trooper, the exact same power as Rodimus. I obviously didn't notice during my rush to get information. Secondly, his white spaces on the bottom are 12 and not 8 like I first counted, the exact same as Rodimus. Secondly, the paint job is... well, I'll let you see for yourself. There's a large spot of white just behind his foot that you can just see in the picture but his chest symbol is also very, very bad looking and his black/yellow stripes are uneven, like someone hand-painted them. Third, there's a major issue with his name tag... Instead of having a real name tag, "Checkpoint" has a piece of paper stuck on with double-sided tape. Also, you can see some more of the shoddy paint job on his feet in that picture. In conclusion, I think I got ripped off! I should have figured that $2.00 plus $8.00 shipping was too good to be true for a S2 figure and I didn't even think when the guy said he got Galvetron in the booster as well since Checkpoint is a SR, just like Galvetron. In all, I am very disappointed and upset that someone would pull a shenanigan like this.

Aw man, I am so sorry to hear that... That's definitely a fake. I'm sure that you already have done it or have it mind, but you should contact the seller immediately and if your satisfaction is not met, file a complaint to eBay.

Aw, thanks for telling me it's a fake. One of the reasons I don't buy from eBay all the time.

Too bad about the wasted money. Hopefully the real set will come soon so you can get the actual figure.

I agree with Zincdust, call him on it and contact Ebay.
Out of curiousity, having bought it thinking it a real series two Checkpoint, what are you going to do with it knowing it's a repainted series one Rodimus? (That is, if you don't mine my asking.)

Well, I've got one more thing to say about this... April Fool's![/b] I know it's early but April 1st falls on a Sunday so I couldn't do it then (no mail on Sundays) and I figured I'd do it a bit earlier than normal. Also, I'd like to apologize in advance to anyone who really felt sorry for me. I think the second part of the joke, the "Ebay scam", came off a bit to convincing but I think there were enough flaws for someone to notice. First, the cruddy paint job on the black/yellow lines are much better on the distance photo than the up close photo since I touched them up via my computer. I figured someone would notice. Second, the Checkpoint label was made via Malform's label maker. I really thought that one of the members that uses the program a lot (Rader, Malform himself) would have called me out on it. Lastly, and most importantly, I really figured that no one would believe the whole "I actually didn't notice all the flaws" bit. Not even someone as oblivious as myself could not notice that a figure has Recruit: Trooper with 12/26 and call it Capture with 8/26. Even then, that's not even touching the fact that somehow I didn't notice the paint job. The Rodimus/Checkpoint used here was painted by me with credit for making him pure white easily via spray paint going to Jango and credit for doing some awesome touch-up work to Unnamed Brother. The original idea of this prank was to see how well the custom went over and then see how people would react if they believed that someone got scammed off of Ebay, even if the description didn't add up. Hopefully no one get upset at the whole thing. While I like to play with people's gullibility from time to time, my Ebay post appears to have been a bit to convincing and people actually felt sorry for me which I didn't like since I don't enjoy playing on people's sympathy. I apologize for that again. Moral of the story: If it is March/April and Grievous claims he just got a repaint from a new series off Ebay, don't believe him until you've got close-up pictures to prove it.
