I've been eyeing the cybertrons when I go to the store (trying to get used to the idea b/c I know we're going to end up getting the attacktix) and they are pretty cool but LARGE. I have no idea how Hasbro will be able to make them little but I'm sure they have something up their sleeve.
Thanks for the pics! Very cool indeed.

Does anyone know what channel and time the show is on? It would help to get to know these new characters. (I'm a Gen. 1 fan, myself)

Could just be me, but I'm going to predict you hate the new show. If you are a Gen 1 fan, that is. I believe it's on Cartoon Network saturdays at 7:00.
Now, don't get me wrong, the Transformers cartoon from the 80's was no emmy winning piece of work, but this new show is just moronic.
But, give it a shot and see what you think.

I was afraid of that....I have all the Gen 1 episodes on DVD, and tried to watch Armada & Energon but they just weren't the same. I'll give Cybertron a shot anyway......

I saw an episode last weekend, I was tryign to keep an open mind... But WOW! Thats some good crapola.
Why oh why are they mixing the 2 types of animation!?? In my opinion, it looks really bad. I made it to the first commercial, and changed the channel.

I watched a little bit of the cartoon Saturday morning. I agree that the animation mix is sooo hard to watch! The transformers look so slow and the only thing that ever seems to move on their CGI bodies is their little mouth. It's kinda freaky. I was so distracted by the animation that I have no clue what happened in the story.

I finally gave the show a shot and didn't like it at all. I really hope that they do some Generation One Transformers in the game...or maybe in its own expansion. Oh well, back to watching my DVDs of the Generation One cartoon from the 80's....ah, good times...good times...

I was squarely in the target audience of the Gen 1 Transformers...so it's hard for me to really like the modern stuff. However, some of these pics look good, like they really capture the old school flavor still.
I guess I'm still trying to get over the issue of scale, as most TFs are vastly different sizes from one another, and of course huge compared to human characters (like we have in SW and GIJoe). Hmm.

I, too, can't get into the new show. It was on while I was home for Columbus Day, and oh my, did it ever bite. Perhaps this is just my advancing age, but the trend toward the relatively static Japanimation style is making lots of cartoons increasingly unwatchable. I feel like I'm watching a really poor flipbook.
And what the heck...Optimus could defeat Megatron just by charging him? Eh? Oh, well.

Maybe I'm just having rose-tinted memories, but it seems to me that the show I watched when I was a middle-schooler actually had a believable story-line too. The newer one just doesn't seem to be able to come up with a reasonable story-line.
