Indeed, it is interesting. That explains where a lot of the chromes have been going Though I understand people wanting to make a profit off gaming (and I can't really blame 'em for it), it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth when people acquire a bunch of things just to jack up the prices later on.

Are you saying what I think you are saying? Is that seller a trader on the board?

No, what I'm saying is that I've seen this buy bidding on a *ton* of eBay Attacktix auctions, some of which I've also placed bids on, but most of which I've not. I've no idea if he's a trader on this board.

Actually if it is or it isnt a member it shouldnt matter. They are giving someone what they dont have. What they do with it is their own business. That whole set would look cool.

The chrome figures I sold on Ebay- (we prefer none chromes so we sold all of them) this guy all bid on. Guess he was amassing what he could for this big auction. They are cool for sure and it probably took a lot of effort to amass a complete collection to sell. Good for him. No bad ethics in it IMO - even if he did trade on our board. Thanks cereal for the cool auction! I do love to look at those.

I firmly admit that I hold a minority view this way. I suppose I would have just rather seen these figures played with, rather than resold. However, inasmuch as this is a free market transaction, I don't have any sort of looming ethical objections about it. It's just a minor case of hoarding to drive up prices, though one could argue that he's actually providing increased value to each chrome figure by grouping them together as a set.
If nothing else, it'll be interesting to see how much this auction ends up going for, as it'll give a baseline free market value for a complete chrome set.

Given that I could buy an equivalent number of replacement figures for that price, I think that particular auction's got way too high of a starting price. And if I recall correctly, this is the second listing of that auction.

I generally don't promote or discuss anything that I do or offer on ebay, but I have nothing to hide, because I am and honest trader that trys to deal with every individual fairly.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I certainly respect their right to like or dislike anything that they see and react to accordingly.
I am not flaming or taking any comments to heart, but at the same time, I have nothing to hide either, so I will just come out and say that
This is my Auction and I am Brantleyh as in Brantley Hamby. I am not promoting the auction or anything else that I have.
You each can draw your own conclusions about what my goals and intentions may be, but honestly I just got hooked on a GREAT game. As you can tell by my almost daily posts that I enjoy playing the game and the strategy and spending time with my son.
I tend to have an addictive personality (see boosters are like crack). I have traded, bought and sold trying to put together a chrome set for myself while also trying to put together a set for my son.
Personally I feel that the chromes are for collecting, but that is my opinion. We do play hard with our black base. I certainly respect the oppisite viewpoint.
This Chrome Set was VERY difficult to put together, and by the time I finally finished the set I only needed 1 more for my second set, so I figured that I would make one of them available.
Contrary to what some may want to think, there isn't much of a markup on the buying and selling of these things. You need 15 Super Rare for a regular set. The cheapest you can get a booster is Walmart for $7.50 after tax.
That is $112.50 to put the set together if you get a new S.R. everytime. Try to sell a set for that price. You can't they go for between $90-$100.
I do this because I love it and to try to end up with a set in the end to put away. Nothing more.
You are free to feel however you wish about it. I certainly do respect your right, but know this. I do LOVE this game, and Love this forum, and I am sorry if some feel that it is wrong, but I have been honest and fair with everyone that I have and do deal with.

As you can tell by my almost daily posts that I enjoy playing the game and the strategy and spending time with my son. You're right, and I was too quick to draw conclusions as to your eBay alter ego's motivations. Your love for the game is evident and unquestionable. I owe you an apology - big time. That explains all of the activity I've seen, then I've only been trying to do things for myself and no one else. I'd not considered the possibility of someone collecting for both him/herself and his/her children. Your position on this is particularly understandable, given that Hasbro hasn't advanced any rules for chromes vs. regulars. I only use my chrome Dooku in battle because it's the only way I can keep it straight from the other 4 I use for myself when my wife and I play Jedi vs. Sith ;D I'm glad to have your first-hand perspective on this. I'd thought there was a lot larger markup going on than there really was. Indeed, your eBay reputation is good evidence of this point. I didn't mean to cast dispersions on your character, but what I said and the way I said it probably did. For that (and for posting way before thinking), I am sorry. By the way, I'm glad you got your reserve price

There are two types of sellers. Scalpers that are out just for profit and Collectors that get extra of an item to fund their hobby.
