It would have been kewl if hasbro took the effort to give chrome figs special attributes like extra tix or better percentages or better powers
anyhoo does anyone play with chromes and if you do do you give them any extra value
just curious

Aside from the weekly buffing, Armor All, and Rain-X coatings that mine get to protect the shine, there's no difference ETA: Did I mention the spit-polishing, too?

Hey I know that this may not be the right thread but I wanted to share my excitement with everyone! I got a Chrome Yoda!!! Sweet! But will you play with him? Joe and I play w/all our chromes - they get no special treatment at all. I'm just happy to have certain figures - be it regular or chrome.

I think it'd be interesting to have Chromes be sorta like the silver tournament figures, except that at the start of the game, the user got to choose if s/he wanted to have a) 2 more Tix of movement or b) 10 fewer points of cost for that particular figure. Could make things interesting

Could make things interesting thats what im talkin about! hasbro really screwed the pooch by not giving them added play-ability as well as collect-ability but then again...that would just make 'em harder to find on the second hand market just my 2 cents -K

I STILL have no "chromies" but I'm sure that if I did, I would play with them, just for the "cool factor". Especially if I had a chrome Darth Vader (ooohhhh, [tingling sensation])

No way....at first I did but when I saw people dropping $30 on ebay for a chrome Yoda I never opened up mine again after that. Keeping them to put my kid through school in 20 years...he he
As far as giving them special power I agree...Hasbro overlooked that....I originally assumed that the base would weigh a bit more thus making the chrome version a litle tougher to knock over then a non-chrome of the same figure....but that is not the case....I think that would ba simple solution...doubling the tix might be too much of an advantage for a chrome saber slinger like Vader...I mean 28 tix is a little excessive even if the figure is rare...just making them a touch harder to knock over is my 2 cents...

Have any of you played other collectible games?
You know those holographic cards in every single collectible card game? Do they do anything different than the normal ones? Nope. But they look really great! It's the same thing with Attacktix. The idea with chromes is to make the figures more rare, not stronger or better than their black-based counterparts. I think it would be ridiculous to give chromes differents stats or heavier bases. Then the people who just want the best figures would be in a bind.
As for me, I love chromes, but never go out of my way to get them. I have a chrome Commander Bly who is one of my favorite looking pieces, and I always use him to lead my other clones into combat. My chrome Grievous is another great looking piece, but I still play with him.

I am glad that you all play withyour chromies....power to the people and you are just driving up the value for those of us who find value in saving thier chromes. I mean I would take $30 over playing with my chrome Yoda anyday....since there are no benefits to playing with the chrome one, as we have been commenting on, then why bother playing with them when you could trade say a chrome Grievous for a like 3 regular ones easy to someone who does care about them being chrome...? That makes no sense...
all good but at the end of the day I am saving my chromes for ebay...or my son to have when he is older, not just to be bling bling as I lead my troops into battle...
