Finally had my first vacation in almost two years over the Labor Day weekend. I have an aunt and uncle that own a very nice houseboat down in Tennessee, so we loaded up and headed down there this past Wednesday night. I drove the first few hours, then my wife drove the rest of the way while my little girl and I napped. We followed my folks, sister and her husband down there, about an eight hour drive. My aunt and uncle, as well as my cousin and her husband were all waiting for us on the boat, which is a lot like having a VERY nice apartment that floats and has room for 10 adults and a baby to sleep comfortably. We spent our days watching the sunrise, eating, swimming, eating, jet skiing, eating, watching the sunset, telling old stories, and sleeping. A near perfect vacation. As a side note, these new jet skis they had, they were nuts. The speedometers went up to 80mph, and it wasn't hype. I had one wide open going 70 for about 10 seconds before I kind of freaked out and let off the gas. At that speed, you run the legitimate chance of really hurting something if you have to bail out. Still a lot of fun though.
