Okay, I can't be the only football fan on here... so how is that we have no thread about the NFL yet? The preseason has started! Who is your team? Will they be any good? (Now that I think about it, I know there are Broncos fans on here!)

Go COLTS! I'm a huge Indy fan (born in Muncie, IN) but unfortunately their defense looks to be as bad as it was last year (26th ranked). BUT THE OFFENSE! Peyton Manning! woo hoo!

Buccaneers are rebuilding right now - but Carnell Williams is gonna kick some ass!

And, unfortunately, things will probably not get any better for the Colts. Two years ago the Chiefs were 13-3 and then lost in the playoffs (to your Colts, no less) with a GREAT offense and no defense. They didn't do anything to change the D and last year they were 7-9. But this year they've majorly upgraded the D. I'm expecting a much improved team, as long as Trent Green stays healthy. We'll get a glimpse tomorrow night when they play the Vikes.

Now the question is: have they had enough time to cohere as a unit to play effectively? I'd say give 'em a year to break their defense in - find the faults, the bad assignments, the iron walls - and then they'll do better. As for Denver, my home sweet team, unless Plummer's exorcised his pass wackiness, I don't see good things. We used to always complain about the lack of a running game in Denver; now we need a passer with *good* judgement (although for you KC fans, I'm sure his judgment is just fine the way it is). Thank goodness the Vikes have decided to take a "Rolling Stone" approach to their personnel ("a rolling stone gathers no Moss).

I doubt folks in Denver really took him for granted, but I think now they can definitely appreciate John Elway. He carried some pretty mediocre teams, and thrived when he finally had some support. I don't really see a scenario where Plummer will thrive. And for that, I do love to see him in a Broncos uniform

Da Bears all the way this year!!! I can see the headlines now, "CHICAGO BEARS=2006 NFL CHAMPIONS!"
i cannot wait until football season starts. i can see it now, watching a game and waiting for a commercial break to get my turn in attacktix in.
(on a side note, i'm in champaign, which was the temporary home of the bears while soldier field was being renovated-the season sucked, but having them here in our lil ol town was quite cool)

NINERS!!!! Yea they kinda suck right now, so no worries. Anyone play Fantasy Football? I could start our own Attacktix league, would anyone be willing to join? We could just play for fun but if anyone would like to wager something we could each throw in an attacktix figure. Well let me know if anyone would be intrested.

Sorry, but I think the Bears have a ways to go yet. Did anyone catch the game on ESPN tonight between the Chargers and Packers? I got home with about half of the fourth quarter left and the game tied at 7. And then Nate Kaeding missed three field goals for the Chargers at the end of the game that could have won it. How about that, YB? Good to see the Bolts struggle.

So much for the Bolts being the Golden Child team. Looks like they're back to being the Dolts.

being from missouri i'm of course a Stl RAMS fan, seems like we always make the playoffs at least so i predict a playoff birth lost to the colts probably since we haven't heard BIG things from the rams lately, but, how about those cardinals september is coming and houston is losing time to gain ground and the cubs... well, we all know the saying in chicago. (chicago teams choke in the crunch)

being from missouri i'm of course a Stl RAMS fan So of course you're a Rams fan?? They've only been in Missouri since 1995! And, incidentally, no one cared about them until they made their magical Super Bowl run, and I believe that came on the heels of a 4-12 season.
