Has anyone seen or bought any in person yet? I know TRU's around the country are getting them in...just not mine! I haven't decided on them yet. I'd like to see them in person because I feel the game itself is kinda iffy. The Marvel Figure Factory line, also recently released, though is sparking my interest!

I haven't seen the Superhero Showdown figs south in Florida either Meepo. I collect Marvel Legends so I want one or two just for the fact that everyone keeps saying 'they are mini marvel legends!'
But at 7-8 dollars a figure (when a full size ML is like 7dollars)....eh....I'll probably just get a Spider-Man. I can't afford ANOTHER gaming habit (or Joe!).
The figure factory line is cute though! Kinda like the Star Wars 'Bust 'Ems' which were pretty cool.

Yeah, my interest in them is about the same. After watching the demo of a game I wasn't left impressed. Too clunky compared to Attacktix, what with the stands, dice, tiles, and cards. If I wanted to play Heroclix... But the figures are nice looking so far. Like you said, half the size of Legends but without a price drop! Gotta get a Thing and a Spider-man figure for sure, plus maybe a black suited one as well as I've always cursed my inability to get a black suited Spidey Minimate. Oh yeah, and because you could never make enough jokes about the shoulder-mounted "Fist Launchers" - what's the deal with that?!? The Figure Factory has me hooked. And then I saw that 60% of the line was blind packaged. Augh! Oh well, I'll buy 'em anyway. I need a little excitement in my life after my mailman stopped talking to me after I made that comment about his hair. Sheesh!

I can't afford ANOTHER gaming habit (or Joe!). Wait...if you couldn't afford Joe, why didja marry him? Is he high-maintenance? ;D

Saw these this weekend at the local TRU and was NOT impressed. First off, the TRU didn't even have the starter sets in stock or even a peg for them! They just had the individual figures and after looking carefully at the paint ops and the articulation (poorly assembled joints!) I couldn't justify spending the 7.99 price.
I was majorly disappointed. I would like to see the starter set though and I will reassess.

i would like to see D.C. get in on the action then maybe we could have the amalgam line up too but, that would open a whole new long line of expensive figures and after series two of attacktix i'll be tapped.

Has anyone played a game w/ Showdown yet?
I just know adult collectors that have bought them to display, no one has actually played w/them.

My brother just bought a thing and spidey starter with a doc oc booster, we have played about 3 games so far. I must say it is very fun. The figures keep falling apart but nothing a little snapping into place can't fix. But we only play the level 1 because anything else is to complicated for my brother.

But Attacktix is not too complicated for him, right?
Is it worth the price? What you paid for three figures, I mean?
