From StarWars.com: To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Gen Con LLC will throw the largest party ever for fans of the saga, taking over the entire Los Angeles Convention Center in May 2007 for five days filled with live entertainment, celebrities from all six movies, special film and video presentations, an exhibit of movie props and costumes, exclusive merchandise sold at a 24-hour-a-day store, pop culture tributes, immersive events, costume contests, and scores of additional activities. Star Wars Celebration IV will fill the L.A. Convention Center from Thursday, May 24 to Monday, May 28, 2007. Admission to the first day of the event will be for worldwide members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club, many of whom will help plan and run special programming themselves. The convention will be open to the general public from Friday through Monday, Memorial Day.

Can I get her that press pass if she'll agree to take photos?

Not, to step on anyones toes, but I'd love a free pass. I'd of course be happy to take as much media as possible of the event including interviews.

My friend got a letter from the convention telling her that due to the large volume of press there that her request for a press pass was denied.
I'm guessing we're SOL on getting press passes...

It was great, Pac-man, Pac-Dad, JayDouble, Jedi Mind Trick, (the kid who won the junior tournament at the last Comic-Con,) and I were all there. I got to meet a lot of cool people from Hasbro and I played a TON of matches. BTW, after a hundred or so matches playing with Wookiee Scouts, they aren't that bad. They are a lot more stable than I thought they were. Aside from Attacktix, I got to play Laser Tag with some storm troopers, buy a hot dog, look at some neat displays, evacuate the building during the bomb scare, and got part of my face on TV. But Attacktix and Hasbro were the highlights of the event. I played countless matches, I got people excited about the product, I helped publicize the tournaments, I even passed out a few fliers for my event. Some of the people that live locally might come, others hopefully will come to this forum. I had a blast spending time with kids. Once I finish finals this coming week I should get my video up. -Radar Update, Here is the RebelScum Coverage(...kind of weak).

I finally found some official info on the bomb scare that prevented SO MANY people from seeing the Opening Ceremonies. At approximately 7:50 p.m. on Friday, May 25, the Los Angeles Police Department notified staff at Star Wars Celebration IV that a suspicious package had been reported outside the Los Angeles Convention Center. The LAPD was in charge of the situation. All actions taken were at the order of the Police Department. The decision to evacuate those still in line to attend the Opening Ceremonies was made for reasons of public safety and with the protection of those guests in mind. It was made to ensure that exits were not blocked in the event of a mass evacuation of the Opening Ceremonies, which at the time was still a possibility. Celebration IV staff were under obligation to cooperate completely with the directives of the LAPD. These orders were made out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety of all fans in attendance, and we appreciate the swift response of the LAPD. We also appreciate the cooperation and response of those fans affected by this police action, and deeply apologize for the inconvenience this serious situation may have caused. YouTube Bomb Scare C4
