Are we playing by the rules that the committee has regulated? I guess to be more specific, do you have to always load your figures at the start of your turn? What did the committee decide on this? I must admit I don't always keep up with that thread/board.

That it's optional.

I've updated the main post - but we will play by the committee's rulings - I may need to look to you, DoNP, and Superfly for help during the tournament as I am not familiar with all the rulings.

I have 2 more contenders who are looking to come. Is that ok, if I bring them?

Ok, event C....fair warning, everyone brush up on your Captain America attacks When I did my second tournament in California, the top two teams each consisted of 2 Captain America figures and an extra 20 points.

I'd be more than happy to use a couple of Captain America's versus the team that I made.
Get ready for Touchdown Vader! LOL!

Alrghty boys and girls...The "Energon Invitational Grand Champion Trophy" is complete! Most of you know that whenever I am involved in a tournament I create groovy one-of-a-kind trophies. This time, my dear friend Chris has asked me to do the same. So, without giving up the gravy I am announcing that the trophy is complete, and that Chris will determine who it is awarded to.
Cheers!

so...... whats the matches going to be is it going to be a bracket 2 loses and your out one on one or what? The main event is a 200-point tournament (100 points for backups), double elimination. The other events (pick your opponent's team and launchers only) are 100-points per team (50 for backups) single elimination. All matches are one player versus one player. In the event we get down to an odd number of players (like 3) I have plans in place to handle that. We will keep track of points left standing by the winner (and the loser). For example, if we had 3 teams left, A, B, and C. They each won a match and lost a match. A won with 100 points left standing, and lost to a team with 10 pts left for a net of 90. B won with 50 points left standing, and lost to a team with 10 pts left for a net of 40. C won with 150 points left standing, and lost to a team with 100 pts left for a net of 50. B would play C and the winner would play A. Hopefully that's not too complicated.

I just received word that the trophy for the Main Event Champion (200-point open) has been completed! Thank you very much Mr. Superfly - another awesome job! It's a Vector Prime Attacktix figure standing on top of the All-Spark with then sits on top of a Republic Gunship base. The wording for the effect on this actual playable trophy is: "Reanimation If the allspark is in play the owner may forfeit all of their attacks this turn and bring 30 points of defeated figures back into play from their defeated area." I am working on getting prizes for the three events. My wife found a "mega cool" deal on eBay for one prize and hopefully Hasbro will come through with some stuff as well.
