im using a 4 foot by 4 foot board for the tourne im judgeing. Obviously i'll have to maskintape about 6 inch in but with it being in a games workshop i dont have much choice as thats the size of the tables .
I am debating adding some of the 40k scenery to the tourney thou. Played a few games with it but it dragged it on

It seems to me there are 3 major factors involved. 1) Where/When are you going to have it? 2) Who is coming? 3) What will happen there?
If you can carefully plan these 3 out, you should be ready. There are obvious subsections to all these, but those should be a reasonable guide.
I think it is important to note that if you want to host a tournament, it is going to take some organizing. Hasbro is not going to send someone to your house to do the work for you. It will take planning, coordinating, and a great deal of effort and time. It can be a big undertaking...depending on how big of a tournament you want to plan.
If you ask yourself, 'Who, What, Why, Where, When, How?" frequently, you should be successful. Trying to plan ahead is going to be a good way of preventing frustration later.
Ultimately, "How can you set one up" is totally up to you. If you decide to run a tournament, you can go to Attacktix.com and print up the score cards, or you can try to do something much bigger. It's up to you.

It's easy to set one up, like Radar said. Just pick a place - this can be anywhere that can accomodate groups of people...even a big 2-car garage. If you want to have it somewhere that people can go to from a lot of places, you can set it up at a hotel or church or something in the middle-ish of a group of the folks coming.
As for the people, post it here, at school, or whatever. That'll get the body count up.
As for the boards, it's easy. Go to Lowes, True Value, Home Depot with 20$ and a truck. Get an 8 foot x 4 foot sheet of the cheapest pine plywood you can. Cut two 4 foot by 3 foot squares. Sand it with 240 grit sandpaper to smooth it. Measure a 3-foot by 3 foot square and draw it in the middle of the boards. Voila!

My Question is where are the standard Tournament rules at. Like standard build total, sidebroad build total, playing field? Stuff like that then I will customize tournaments as I see fit.
***EDIT: "Okay I found these answers in a thread at the top of this forym" ***

Another question I read on another Thread the mention of Trophy Figures for Tournament how does one get them. I wanna run Events at my local Comic Shop where I run Heroclix Events.

May webhead817 have mercy on your soul...Anyways! You also need to have restrictions, such as no alchohol, smokes, etc. or else you could have some problems. Good luck!
