Dunno; it would have depended on whatever my opponent chose. That's why I detest that style of tournament. Anyway, I'd have gotten at least one of the strikers (preferably Wicket, of course), followed by a Greedo, and then I'd have probably gone for the S4 Chewie, then the S4 Han, then the Skyblast jet, then whatever figures would round out the team (most likely an Omnicon, if it were still available). I can usually shoot well when it matters, but when I'm playing casual games, my shooting game goes straight down the tubes.
I might have kept the striker in reserve until the second turn, though, depending on if my opponent had formed his or her figures up or not. However, I'd have definitely targeted my opponent's striker as my first kill, probably with my own striker.

Here's what we picked from the bin:
match 1: thecasualoblivion vs. notpicard--notpicard picks first
He takes Scorponok I take Grand Moff Tarkin He takes Wicket I take Greedo He takes Han Solo(starter) I take Overhaul He takes Chewbacca I take Boba Fett(starter) He takes Endor Scout I take Omnicon He takes Decepticlone
He puts his figures into a single formation and advances slowly. On turn two, I moved Boba Fett to flank the formation, and shot the Wicket in the back row, then killed the Chewbacca with my Overhaul as Chewbacca was relying on Wicket being behind him for support. The following turn he kills Fett with Scoropnok, and Fett turns up white and lives, and he takes a shot at Overhaul who gets hit but does not fall. On turn three I kill Scorponok with Boba Fett and Han Solo with Overhaul. He only has the Endor Scout and Decepticlone left, and he kills Fett again, who stands up a second time, and fires on Overhaul and again Overhaul is hit but remains standing. I kill the Decepticlone with something, and then I take a lazy, badly aimed shot at the Endor Scout with Overhaul and it doesn't die. He takes a third shot at Overhaul with the Endor Scout and finally kills Overhaul, who is white and replaces my Omnicon. Grand Moff Tarkin kills the Endor Scout for the win.
My second game was against a non-member of the boards, and we use the same bin as the first game.
I pick first and take Tarkin again He takes Megatron I take Greedo He takes Super Optimus Prime Vehicle I take Overhaul He takes Skyblast Jet I take Boba Fett He takes Wicket I take Omnicon
I go first, and have a miss with Tarkin and kill Wicket with Overhaul. He takes his turn and doesn't kill anything. On my second turn I kill Megatron with either Boba Fett or Tarkin, and I kill the Truck with Overhaul. On his second turn he takes a shot at Tarkin, and hits but does not kill Tarkin. Overhaul kills his Skyblast and this one is over.

That mouthy kid was hilarious. "Prepare to die - hahahaha" was what he said before every shot he took and he was even cheating a little bit from what I saw (but he was playing against his dad so I didn't say anything).
"d**n stupid a$$ special power being black" was my favorite line. His parents were like - "be nice"... nothing about using foul language... hilarious.
Before I played him in the 3rd round, I did give my car keys to my brother an told him he got to keep my car if I lost to the kid. I may have retired from Attacktix as well had that happened...
P.S. My apologies to profanicon and thecasualoblivion for mixing up your handles/names earlier in this chain!

Hee...well, I'm glad you dispatched him with glee and aplomb. Now that would have been an annoying final match.

Did you at least destroy the kid? I'm surprised he got that far.

I wouldn't say destroy - but a solid defeat... I think I had 2 - 20 pointers left. I hit Super Optimus Prime several times, but never got him down until I was at point blank range.
I was getting nervous when Optimus kept standing up to my shots!

An update from my end: Hasbro was kind enough to send me a series of silver tournament figures, along with a gray Attacktix t-shirt with "STAFF" printed on the back It's odd; I ultimately probably value the t-shirt more - I guess I just enjoy the non-figure-related Attacktix swag so much because it's a way to express my commitment to the line more than any tourney figures could be. Nevertheless, I really thank Hasbro for their generosity in sending me probably far more than I really deserve. Thanks, y'all!

Thats sweet, I thought it was kind of lame when I found they had no real prize support at the con. I was really expecting more from a tournament that was actually held by hasbro.
Is this the first time they have given a t-shirt as a prize?

No. I had some T-shirts at my tourney and I gave them to Benkenobi and Bobafetch007.

Yeah, I got a couple of T-Shirts from the Comic Con. Not because I won, but instead because the Attacktix team are just good people. I asked for one and the game creator was super cool about it. Hasbro is extremely generous. Those guys are awesome.

I played at the Attacktix Tournament today at the Transformers convention. There were probably 20 or so people playing (it was hard to keep track due to people signing up and then not showing up to play). I'd say most everyone playing had at least played a few times before. Playing from this board that I knew of were: myself, Yodabreaker, Malform, and profanicon The pairings kinda sucked, because they went right down the list of when you signed up to pair you in the brackets, so my brother and I played each other in the first round. |sf>I played as well, because I was the second to sign up (and I played another Joe Attacktix person). Actually, it was intentional that people with the same last name would be paired with each other. You had a lot more Joe Attacktix people than that. I also heard the estimate placed at 25 (out of the possible 100 sign-up places). I missed the match as well, because I was at the Hasbro announcement panel, hoping that they would reveal more Attacktix. Instead, Hasbro felt the need to justify TF Attacktix by saying that they appealed to a "different play pattern" and they mentioned the G1 OP and Megs that were on display. Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if the 'no more than 5 of any one figure' would be applied to tournaments in the future.

YB got to keep the reps "special" team as a prize... It was just a bunch of TF1's. He did leave in a rather quick hurry after being defeated, but I dont know if it was due to the loss, or trying to skip out on an interview we wanted to have with him. I didnt see him anywhere after he took off, have no idea where he went. |sf>TheCasualOblivion, myself, and at least one other Attacktix guy caught up with him at the Hasbro table soon after the Hasbro panel let out (which was after the Attacktix tournament ended). That's when we learned that he was actually one of the only guys from the Attacktix area of Hasbro who knew how to play. We asked him about the Galvatron figure and the battle case and he said that he didn't know the plans on their release. As to why he acted the way he acted, he probably expected a Transformers fan, one who had only started playing with this wave, to be his competition. When I first bumped into him before the Attacktix contest started, I told him my usual question on why the Battle Cases don't explain the rules regarding the launchers that come with the cases. He seemed receptive and surprised at the oversight. (Maybe a future instruction booklet might fix the problem.)

I was wondering if there would be anything for 2nd/3rd place (the casualoblivion and myself). Lots of tournaments have prizes for the top 3 spots so I figured I'd at least ask...

I'd just told Joe about what went down, and he hooked me up You're right that there are usually more prizes than that, and that second and third place usually get some goodies.
