Ok cool! I have no prob with transformers, I've actually played with them now and they are pretty cool (sorry for my scepticism). I am going to set up areas for people to play any type of side matches they like. Also one of the mini tourneys mentioned above will have an entry fee of 1 super rare (that you have to use on your team), and winner takes all (or at least all but 3).
I am going to have a trophy and am currently looking into possibilities.
Thanks for the ideas Superflynt!

I will be there. Just need to know the time and place. I like the restrictions on multiple pieces of the same character. Forcing people to utilize more types of pieces seems to be more in the spirit of the game than using 5 gold kams. The more side games to allow for more winners seems like a great idea, too.
Not sure how I feel about the inclusion of transformers. Are the teams tested enough to know if there is a decided advantage? The creators seemed to intend interaction, but they have made some mistakes before with regard to imbalace. I would just like to see people win based on skill and strategy, not because they exploited some technical nuance of the game.
Maybe allow for a mega tourney, or all-mega tourney. These games would be ridiculous, but possibly fun.

The imbalances seen between transformers and star wars are no different than the imbalance between rebel and jedi or any other faction for that matter.
Thanks for your input.

I really like the idea of some kind of mega tournament.
What kind of figure restrictions are we talking about? Are there plans on limiting golds? Or limiting rares and super rares?

We could add a mega tourney at like 400pts or we could just say 4-5 megas or somthing. I don't know what kind of a prize we'd give (maybe a custom mega).
Only the main tournament will have figure limits, all of the other 3 will have no limits (except points).
I'm still trying to come up with the best way to do this so it isn't confusing. As of now the figure restrictions are:
Limit of 5 figures numbered 1-6 (any series, excluding Golds) - I was goin to say commons but in series 4 the rares are about equal to the commons of the other series. Maybe this will turn into: limit 5 "non-unique" (characters without a specific name, i.e. "scout trooper), though that would add alot more characters to this group, but at the same time remove figures like wicket.
Limit 2 figures numbered higher than 6 (any series, this will include all Golds) - This will keep people, like me, from bringin out an army of KAMs, but as with the other catagory I may change this to be: limit 2 uniques instead.
This is just the way I am thinking so far, let me know your thoughts though.

I like your suggested restrictions. Seems to cover all bases. Glad you like the mega idea. Just thinking about all-megas makes me chuckle.

Do you think the megas should be limited to a point value or just an amount of megas?

I definitely don't see any of the TF figs being as abusable as some of the existing SW figs...after all, we're only talking about an additional 25 figs. I just don't think "shootback - x 3 Minicon" is anywhere near as powerful as "attackback - x 3 Jeid".

I agree webhead, if anything they ad to the overall skill and strategy of team selection, adding more possibilities for people to be creative. (everyone seems to be taking note on KAM's unique ability)

It seems like 5 megas per side would be workable and fun. I certainly do not know because I don't have 10 meags and have never tried. But any 5 megas per side in the tourney might work. I tried working out some point caps, but I think this would be simpler. 5 omegas would be 400, so you could put the point total there, but you could sneak in a 6th Boga for that much. I can't wait for this.

I'm in Nota...we got a place now in KY (like the Jelly). I've played with 5 megas per side (player's choice) and it is overrated. I go in with 3 Destroyers and 5 gunships...it's over. Walk the gunships up slowly with destroyers behind them, the 2 free gunships running interference. Promptly piggyback the droids from the rear to in-between the forward "interference" ships, then forward AGAIN in front of enemy megas, and they are dead (2 shots, 2 hit pads....it's ugly) as 4 o'clock. Rinse, repeat as needed. Never been beat yet, but it was Mark from the tourney....

well we have some new megas from TF, and it still will be fun to see what people come up with.
Do we want just 5 megas of any kind, or do points with a minimum of 5 megas (and you can fill in the rest with whatever you want)?
I might need a small entry fee to help pay for the custom mega I'm gonna build as the prize, unless everybody just wants to play for fun. or i could just put up a republic drop up for the prize.
