A couple of us Attacktix guys at work are planning a tourney. As the info from Hasboro is limited, any ideas on format and/or rules?
We were thinking a modified "round-robin" style. Any suggestions?

While pricey, a Booster Draft I think would make a very interesting format! Have everyone buy two sealed boosters and put them into a pool. Then arrange a draft order and open all teh boosters up. In turn, have each player pick a figure until he has reached 100 points.
If there are any remaining fugyres afterwards, each person could then continue to draft figures for a back-up pool.

And whoever wins gets to keep all the figures, by the way what is "round-robin" style?

In mini gaming what they would do is give you a starter and a couple of boosters. From there you would have to make your squad. It makes it more random and not just the luck of the draw. I feel if you're a good shot doesn't matter who you have.

Thanks for the ideas. Round-robin is more of a sports style where every competitor plays every other competitor in a first round. From there, you take top winners and put them against each other until there is a ultimate winner.
I like your ideas better.

You could do a horseshoe booster draft. Open up the boosters. Put all of the figures in the center.
Dice/click to see who goes first. Starting player chooses 1 figure, 2nd player chooses 2 figures, then first player chooses 2...back and forth. Ignore point totals.
I played heroscape, where we drafted by points, and it was a little weird...one person was done early, and the other person got to max out their tactics.
What would you do about backwards/weak-spring figures?

The tournament I am planning on running, will be an open tournament, bring your own 100 or 150 point team. Half as many points in backup.
Same team through all levels of tournament.
No Mega/Deluxe figures.
Single or Double Elimination depending on the turnout. I will have two tournaments, youth and adult.
This is all I have right now. More will come.

AND YES NO AT-RT OR BOGAS(UNLESS OTHER PLAYER HAS ONE)
AND PLEASE MAKE THE ARENA BIGGER 4FT BY 3FT... THERE SHOULD BE A NUMBER IN YOUR BACKUPS EX. 10 BACKUPS (I DONT LIKE HAVIN BACKUPS WITH POINTS BARRIERS YOU CANT STRATIZE TOO MUCH)

Goodluck setting up a youth tournament, although at my school at least 8 people liked playin Attactix. So many people were watching and asking to play that everyone only got to use 2 figures, a few unlukey souls only got 1.

If anyone still goes to highschool or even attends a college, how about starting an Attacktix club after school? There's a lot of clubs like that. It'd work out great.

The thing is getting people interrested. Most of the people I know are to busy with either yugioh, magic, or heroclix. So how could I get people into it?

I like the round robin idea but each round should be the best 2out of 3 or 3outa5. It gives each person a chance just in case they get swamped the first time.

i think two ways 1) everyone buys a booster brings it UNOPENED and puts it in a pile if u bring one and have figures and want to be, you are in the tourney just play normal games everytime some1 will be taken out (even if its a draw they can redo a 1000000 times sometime 1 of them will loose) no megas/emperor winner gets all booster packs the people brought and maybe a piece of paper certificate or something that says they won. 2). have every one pitch in money then they are in whoever wins gets all the money. -Vader
