Personally, I've known exactly one person besides myself that plays Attacktix and doesn't have to borrow my figures. I must just be lucky to have brothers who also enjoy the game.
However, I agree that this lull is absolutely killing the fanbase. Hasbro needs to get their butts in gear and release the darned things already before everyone gets sick of waiting and leaves.
Oh, and one minor thing...

I agree with what superflytnt posted - I don't have anyone to play against regularly, so without consistent new releases to tax my strategic brain, it's not too fun to sit and wait. The thing that really concerns me is that we've had the previews for so long that we may have already strategized about them to a fair degree (e.g., Qui-Gon's, Yoda's, and the Emperor's effects), thus diminishing the charge of getting the new set substantially. Just as Lost lost a good amount of its fanbase for taking a long hiatus and Heroes no longer posted heroic ratings, so I fear that Attacktix is going to take a while to rebound from this poorly executed policy of Hasbro's. Though I know the SM3 set was released in the lull, there was really only one good figure there - hardly enough to create more than a stir about "OK, so how do you beat Venom, anyway? OK, how about a team full of 'em?" Heck, this would have been a fabulous time to update "Ask the Expert", or to add a series of official errata. But again, we're left with a big, steaming pile of nothing.

The wait is getting old, but I'm remaining patient, unlike some people. There are those that just started playing Attacktix within the last 2 or 3 months, that are whining and complaining about the lack of new TF figures. Meanwhile, I've been playing with the same TF figures FOR THE PAST YEAR! Phew, I feel better....

Well, if anyone wants to buy my figs, I'm about ready to off the whole collection and start buying guns, or butter, or investing in tin again.....

Superfly, you are not going to give in! Keep your collection. You don't want to regret selling off your collection and then watch the newer sets come out. I have come close myself to doing the same thing. I always tell myself "even if I don't play with them now, my kids will love them when they get older". The newer series WILL come out and we all will breath a little easier when it does. This lag by Hasbro is disturbing. On a positive some what negative note. I went into a couple of hobby stores. One had no idea of what Attacktix were. Once I mentioned Hasbro made them the sighed and said they can't buy bulk from Hasbro at much of a discounted rate, so that is why they never get anything from them. However, they said that someone was in before I was asking about them that same day. So the word is out about these little buggers. Hasbro is doing a poor job of giving us what we want is all. The other store knew about them, but again Hasbro won't come off a discount and so they won't stock them.

Superfly don't sell your figs. If you're going to get rid of them, do what I did to some N-Sync Bobble Heads - blow the crap out of them with one of your guns. Yup, I had the sincere pleasure of dusting those suckers with my 98K 1939 German Mauser. Lots of fun to be had in the senseless destruction of idiotic collectibles! Seriously though, I agree with Greyelephant on this - keep them, because once the new series comes out, you'll be back beating the crap out of everyone again and building awesome customs out of the new figs!
Just to clarify - I was not in the repulsive habit of collecting N-Sync bobble heads. I specifically bought them so I could sight my 98K!

And greyelephant, I've had the same reactions at my local hobby stores. They'd love to carry the product (the ones that know about it, that is) but since they don't deal with Hasbro's other products, they don't get the discount. It'll probably be that way until when/if Wizards of the Coast takes the reins. My favorite local hobby shop, "Wombat & Chips" does sell some Attacktix, but as part of the secondary market. The owner will either buy Starters and Battle Master sets from stores to sell at the same price, or he sometimes buys and cracks open boosters to sell the figures at a decent price loosely. A good way to get the game into a smaller retailer.

Oh come on, superfly, you know the instant you sell your figures the new ones will come out. It's just the way the world works. You make an irreversible decision and it is almost certain that something will happen to make it the wrong one.
Also, who would make rude remarks if you're gone? ;D

Uh, just because I don't play as much, or collect them anymore, would not mean my demise from your digital nightmares. And my remarks are not always RUDE, per se, just blunt! ;D
I'm selling off quite a few, though, and keeping the ones I cherish most. I think I'll be keeping my "Death Squad" from the tourneys (I play virtually all the same figs at every tourney), as well as a 200-point Marvel and all of my Transformers. I know....what a turn....but I saw S3 and that's all I really want for Christmas. Well, that and my 2 front teeth. Back. ;D
I am seriously sticking to my guns though - I am NOT, repeat, NOT buying even one stinking booster. I will wait a few months (while playing with Chris's figs to determine which I want) and simply Ebay the ones I want. It's just cheaper and I don't lose my arse buying 999 boosters to get that friggin TF2-12 or whatever. So sick of blind boosters.

Bah! I forgot a "C". That "rude" should have been "crude", even though both fit the bill. Also, PM me a list of what you're selling. I've got $25 in PayPal that I'm looking to burn somewhere and if you've got what I want then I'd be happy to send it your way. Finally, I agree with you on not wanting to buy a buttzillion boosters to get that one last figure. That's why I'm buying lots of boosters of the sets where I want practically every figure (SW and MV) while only buying a few, if any, of the one where I'll probably get burned looking for those two or three goodies (TF). If I don't get what I want in the boosters, then Ebay to get those last few at a confiscatory price. Simple, perhaps not insanely cheap, but it'll get the job done.

Ah, but look at economics. If you look at the supply of Yodas and whatnot at this particular crossing, the supply is high, demand is low, and the prices have dropped significantly. Same with most of the series. Where S1 sets sold for 250 before, they're now at 170. Same with the other series, all have dropped.
Seems to me I'd rather wait 6 months and bide my time and get the set SWS5 for cheap, then trade away to the ones who want the ones I don't want to get TF2 and M2 (the 3 or 4 I want). I've given up on chasing the rabbit - no more collecting for collection's sake now. I will simply cherry-pick my 3 Whirls and whatever else I want, the rest be darned!

I've certainly contemplated going the eBay route for large lots of common figures for army building purposes. All those boosters will still only contain a relatively few commons, and it's looking like this is a set for which I'll want to get a lot of commons for Hoth battle re-enactment purposes. Thus, eBay will be a cheaper way of acquiring all those commons, unless there's another insanely good clearance like what Target had.

If only you had my NEW At-At, then you could really re-enact!

I will wait a few months (while playing with Chris's figs to determine which I want) and simply Ebay the ones I want. So would that make me a "Tix Pimp"? I'll have to start looking for aquarium shoes and perhpas upgrade from orange shorts to a nice orange suit...

I agree with what superflytnt posted - I don't have anyone to play against regularly, so without consistent new releases to tax my strategic brain, it's not too fun to sit and wait. I do have someone to play against regularly, and we just don't play any more. We've either been playing softball, trying out new Wii games, or playing some older fun coop games (Battlefront 2, Ratchet: Deadlocked) on PS2. Oh yeah, and Annointed1 has moved on to Warhammer. Well, if anyone wants to buy my figs, I'm about ready to off the whole collection and start buying guns, or butter, or investing in tin again..... I haven't sold off any figures yet, but I did take all my saved up Tix money from the past several months and invest in a sweet new softball bat. Also, I recently had to decide whether or not to renew the webhosting for my site, and I strongly considered saying no. The lull has killed about 95% of my interest in the game, making any updates very difficult to produce. I know more people I could get into the game, but what's the point? Right now I'd only be introducing frustration into their lives. If Attacktix does rebound, it's going to be like Hasbro is starting all over again. I imagine it would take a new marketing scheme (or should I say a marketing scheme), new packaging, and will have to connect with a lot of new people. And that could conceivably mean a lot of the same old sculpts that we've all seen before. But I do believe nearly all of us would jump right back into the game.
