I should be ROTFLOL (rolling on the floor laughing out loud), right now over just the thought, for Attacktix shall live long and never lose my faith. Live long Attacktix, live on and live long. My torch of faith shall never die out and will never be extinguished.

Wait... uh... what? Your argument always was along the lines of: "The new series suck. The old ones rocked. I don't like Marvel or Transformers. The new ones have to many re-releases, retools, and repaints. Why can't we go back to the old ways?" My post 100% proved that there are exactly the same amount of re-releases and repaints as in S2 and S3 combined and only three more retools. THREE! Is having THREE more retools than ol' S2 & S3 really that big of a jump? Does that extra 3% of "Res" really mean the difference between the horror you seem to have with the new sets and the elation of the old ones? Nostalgia is a terrible thing if you let it blind you. Heck, if TF2 was replaced with TF3, the new sets would be BETTER than the old ones in regard to "Res" and then you'd really be in a pickle. Your only argument is that you like Star Wars better. That's fine but it is an opinion. Three percent more "Res" being too much of a change after over two years of figures is an opinion. I see it as an illogical one but that's only my opinion. Attacktix is selling at roughly the same level as the old stuff from what I can see, the new ones are coming out (starters online, tournament set at BotCon), the fanbase has never been larger (currently tapping into three collector groups instead of one), and the figures are still worth getting. Don't go selling your opinions as "Fading Facts" when all the facts show that you are absolutely, positively wrong. First of all, I'm not SELLING anything. This is a POLL. Poll = opinion. 'Nuff said on that dude. Second, when I see Star Wars Attacktix coming out once a year, it is my OPINION that there should be ABSOLUTELY NO remolds. 100% new. Third, maybe Attacktix is going strong in your area, but come to Rockford. Not much happening. The FACT that Attacktix is not selling in Rockford like it used to, tells me that yes it is fading. If it were not fading, Rockford would be hot with Attacktix. Not the case. OPINION - Attacktix, when it first came out, hit mainstream. Mainstream turned more cult-ish. Now only small groups buy Attacktix. Attacktix is going strong for those groups. But it is no longer mainstream, hence it has faded to those cult groups. END OF OPINION. Ok, chew away.

Yeah, it seems a little slow right now. But, I am confident that once Hasbro releases a new series that interest will pick up again quickly.

Consider yourself chewed ;D.
See, you're viewing it through the "Star Wars-only" goggles again. Attacktix as a line is still just fine and dandy on the amount of remolds with the same amount coming out each year.
You are entitled to look at it from the Star Wars-only PoV but it is almost certain that Hasbro doesn't and looks at it as a multi-faceted line. Looking at it from that PoV makes all the repaints in one line make sense since it allows more new figures in another line. The amount of repaints, retools, and re-releases in all the new sets combined match other sets before it.
Heck, if you check out one of my last posts in my "Re-s" thread, you'd find that the new 22-figure sets have a near-equivalent percentage of "Re-s" as the old "classic" sets. All sets besides the original Series 1 hover in the 33% "Re" area.
Costs, presumably, prohibit 100% new sets. Even the original set was roughly 1/6th remold/repaint/re-release/etc. in order to, presumably, cut costs. Sure, it'd be fun for Hasbro to release 100% new figures every set but Hasbro is a company and cares about their bottom line. If it is financially sound to have one-in-three or so figures per set be a "Re", they're going to do it.
Perhaps, maybe, just maybe, that's because there hasn't been a big release in the past few months? Maybe that's it but what would I know. Wait until the new stuff comes out. When they fly off the shelves, you come back and tell me again how Attacktix is fading.
And, like I said before, my area, your area, and Optimus Prime's area /= all areas.
OPINION - Attacktix never was mainstream. How many times did you walk down the street and hear someone discussing Attacktix? I know few people who play Attacktix. Attacktix has always been solely based around a cult-following and kids who have money to spend. That's it. This doesn't hurt the game at all since many games have lived on solely a cult-following. END OF OPINION

Hah! Attacktix have never been mainstream.... Mainstream would be the place that Barbie, Polly Pocket, G.I. Joe, Bratz, LEGO, and so forth are at.... Everyone knows what those things are right? You can hardly go a day without seeing a commercial for at least one of those... How many people have seen an attacktix commercial? How many random people on the street actually have heard of or even know what attacktix are (I would say very few)? Attacktix are so far from "mainstream" its sad. *edit* Opps!.... I somehow unknowingly repeated (although slightly different) what grievous said.... Oh well.

Supposedly the official Comic-Con (July 26-29) schedule includes the following:
What's New, and What's Coming at Hasbro (11:30am-12:30pm) Room 1AB Come for first announcements about Hasbro's products that you might not hear anywhere else, plus a special sneak preview of the 2008 product line. Meet members of Hasbro's Star Wars marketing and design teams -- the talented people who work on the company's Attacktix, Titanium, and Star Wars action figure line. Question & Answer time included!
Notice that Attacktix is mentioned.

Ooo...nice find there, mikeska! If I could justify going to hear some of that, I would. Alas, I may need to be saving up to attend another con, depending on how prominently my wife's Stargate SG-1 vids will be featured.

That's right, Attacktix was first on the list. Not even in alphabetical order either, they just decided to put Attacktix first.

Yeah, but the pessimistic view is that they don't have a lot of fire behind Attacktix, so they're doing it first to get it out of the way and have more time to devote to Titanium and the Action Figures....
I mean, I HOPE not, but it's always a possibility...

"If attacktix really does have one foot in the grave, why would they bother with it at all?"

I've decided that it's fading out. Me, of all people.
I am pessemistic not because of the new figs being so slow to emerge, but more to the point, that there's a lot of people that are getting out of playing, just sick of 'em, and the fact that some people are finding that they're the lone holdout. So, we're stuck travelling vast distances to play. That's the 'players, not collectors' crowd.
The 'collectors, not players' crowd already has their fill, and spending money to get 56 Yodas or what-have-you is losing it's appeal.
The people who collect and play equally, well, they're just hosed unless they're fortunate enough to have a lot of friends (looking at Yagg) locally who get together and play.
So, in short, if Habby dun't do somethin' now, there's going to heck to pay. Another thing - go to Joe's profile and see the last time he put in a post. As of right now, the last time he posted was: "Re: TF MOVIE MEGAS/TOURNY SET on Jul 13, 2007, 11:50". When the guy driving the ship has posted 5 times in the last 15 days, there's a lack of interest. ;D
