I have recently gotten back into attacktix about a month ago. I completely forgot about the game for about 4 years. Kind of ashamed that I did. I really love the game and think its wonderful. It seems that I might of missed the glory days.
I am not sure if anyone will actually read this but here goes.
I have been playing some games recently with a new addition of teleporters. At first it comes across as very out of place but as I played a few more games I actually really started to like the new addtion. Lots people like to play with terrain and this is sort of like that (but not really).
Let me explain... I usually play 5x3 which is great and fine but I do enjoy mixing it up a lil bit. So I had the idea of being able to move your figures through a "teleporter" and teleport them across the playing board. How this works is both teams starting lines have a "teleporter" (which is really just a cottonball... Yes imagination is needed roughly 14 tix away. How this works is when your figure touches the teleporter (cottonball) then he gets to pop out at the other teleporter. The teleporters in my games are about a 24 tix advantage in movement. So using the teleporter helps you to get across the board much faster. The catch is that to use the teleporter it takes all of your remaining tix/speed. In example if your jedi knight takes 3 tix to reach the teleporter when he pops out at the other one his move is over.
When playing with teleporters we use the whole table which is much bigger than 5x3. The teleporters dump your figs out in the dead middle of the table (Thats still 3 1/2 feet away from enemies starting line.
I greatly enjoyed playing with teleporters as it made the game more strategic and exciting. My buddy kept sending his guys through the teleporter and I sort of defended the middle and it lead to a great battle ending with my 3 wickets + r2 q5 against his Gold KAM's. Obviously he won but it was a wonderful game.
So my question is what are your thoughts on this? Do you guys think this is "wrong" or to easy to attack your opponent or just to crazy? I would love to know what peoples thoughts are and if you think there is a way to make this better.
Sorry for the book I just wrote ( I went a bit overboard).
Thanks
