Has anyone heard of this game? It's coming out in October and I must admit, it has my attention. The only thing is that they are randomized boosters. However, if we get enough people to start playing we could do trading like we do with Attacktix. Anyways, heres the link so you can see for yourself. www.monsterpocalypsegame.com/game.phpThey have a demo and are giving away a free figure at GenCon. I'll update my feelings for the game once I play the demo.

Looks pretty cool. Let me know how the demo is, I'm actually pretty interested.

ROFL - You and your Godzilla! =D
Looks a bit like a cross between Star Wars Minis and Heroscape. Let me know how it is.

The pieces are great! However the gameplay was average. I didn't like a few things.
1. The person who demoed it with me didn't even know all the rules. Why the heck do you have somebody doing a demo that doesn't know the game well enough? Stupid.
2. The minor figures could just keep coming back after you destroyed them as long as your boss was alive. I found that a bit silly. If it's destroyed, well....it's destroyed.
3. Does the game board ever change? Seems like they were all pretty much the same thing over and over to me. Kinda redundant.
4. Starters were $25. That came with a big monster, his ultra form, a couple of buildings, and 4 minor characters. Monster Boosters were $12 and came with only 1 big monster and his ultra form (there might have been a building in this set as well). Then there are Minor Boosters that were also $12. This comes with a building and 4 minor monsters. All of this is random blind boosters and I found it all a bit too rich for my blood.
Other than those few things I found the game pretty fun. I am curious if you COULD change the board around so that you're not always attacking the same things over and over again. But I never got that involved to see if you could. All in all I'm sure it's pretty fun once you get the hang of it.

It seems interesting, but I've other hobbies to tend to so I haven't checked the game out very much. I also don't think I've ever seen them in stores. The figures do look nice however, so if for no other reason but to collect the figures, it could be fun.

This game has always interested me but I never got into it. I don't have anyone to really play these types of games with. That was also the problem with Attacktix and I became more of a collector than a player. I have a few hundred 'tix figures and never got a chance to really play as much as I would have liked. Not that I regret buying the 'tix in the first place (still love 'em) but I can't justify another game purchase that will just sit on a shelf or in a box somewhere. To add insult to injury this new Voltron version of the game looks great!!! attacktix.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gab&action=display&thread=4080

My wife will play with me *in more ways than one, snicker-snort*, so that's not a problem for me. It's just that I have a HUGE problem with vendors selling BLIND BOOSTERS. I absolutely hate them! I also found something else that's just as much up my alley pertaining to giant monsters. boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/38694/godzillaThis should be out soon and it's got my name all over it! Need convincing? You did see my avatar, right? ;D
