|sf>I've popped by here a few times, especially in the other Transformer board on here. I was discouraged for a while after the web page change, in part because I couldn't access the icon shop. However, today I finally figured out how to fix the configuration on the browser so I could buy Ravage and a booster pack. ;D
I also read that interview from Comic Con. I'm a bit more optimistic about the responses from that interview. Prior to that, I was worried that Attacktix was hovering in the category of "if it returns," but those responses strongly suggest that it's simply a matter of "when."
Unlike some people, I made a trading deal in fall 2006 with a friend on these boards for some IOU figures from TF Series 2 Attacktix. My friend and I were thinking at the time that we'd only have to wait until January 2007 with the launch of Marvel. Once or twice I have worried that we'd never get those figures and that I'd have to make other arrangements for those figures.
I'm patient. However, learning about that OP/Megs G1 starter pack at Dollar General really concerned me, because I feared the worse for Attacktix. On the other hand, it was very hard to find a copy of that starter locally. I called around and heard from employees that the figures sold very quickly. That gives me hope.
From a Transformers fan standpoint, I know that the vast percentage of Transformers fans are not interested in Attacktix. Even though TF fans have experienced other completely "blind" purchases, those objects generally cost less. Therefore, having a half blind, half visable packaging works better for the Transformers line.
The other problem turning off Transformers fans from Attacktix was Hasbro's choice of characters in its launch set. Having some Generation One characters (not just G1 names) is critical to luring the majority of fans.
