Thanks for the compliment, Malform. I might do another just because I really enjoyed how this one turned out. It'd probably be a more stereotypical version of the silent movie. You know, the version they always spoof on commercials and TV and stuff: girl gets captured by guy with mustache, gets tied down on train tracks, but is saved by heroic guy without mustache. I wouldnt really say that that is the setup of a "typical" silent film. There are plenty of silent films that are not nearly that campy, and are even considered classics. Metropolis, Nosferatu, Phantom of the Opera, and the Cabinet of Dr. Caligari for example. The silent film type you are referring to are really comedies... And I would say that through stereotyping and spoofs they have come to be considered by the majority to be the norm of the silent genera, even though that isnt true at all.

That's kind of what I meant by the "stereotypical version". If you were to walk through a city and ask people the first thing that popped into their mind when they think of silent movies, they'll describe something along the lines of what I did. It really doesn't matter if that type of film was the norm or not, its just how they'll, most likely, always be remembered. Sad, but true. Anyways, I've got another video idea beside "Silent Film 2" coming down the pipeline. I'll be taking a quick step away from comedy and instead I'll show off a crazy Attacktix rules variant I've played exactly once.

I have to scratch my head at the launcher/striker video. An actual figure along those lines would not have the launcher merely placed in his arm but it would be molded into one of his hands. This completely alleviates the problem of having the launcher, well, launch from the figure. Anyways, I've got an "experimental" video on its way which is completely different than anything else anyone has tried in this contest so far. Whether its funny or not is still up in the air because I need to do some editing and figure some stuff out. It should be posted by tomorrow morning at the absolute latest. i know but the message im trying to get across is DONT bother with launcher/striker figs because it is ( personally ) a waste of figs and points. anyway i loved your silent movie.

People have different tastes so some will enjoy silent films and some won't, just like some like romances, some like comedies, and some like action films. I've never seen an actual silent film even once in my life, I just thought it'd be an interesting concept. I'd had the idea for a "Venom Wants Hug" video and was brainstorming it late on night when the idea of making it a silent movie popped into my head.

ok, it think i know whats wrong with the films i've made. The sound doesnt keep up with the film and i think it's got something to do with the fact i'm having to pause the camera, probably where those clicks are coming from too...so i do apologise for the standard of the film, again i am just getting used to the camera...lol anyway heres part two www.youtube.com/watch?v=WzQs9h6SL-8

You mean the films have to be under PG-13? I'm probably going to do one; I got a new Pinnacle Studios video editing software for Christmas. Mine will probably be G, or maybe, just maybe, PG. Should it be a film on playing Attacktix, an Attacktix comedy, or just anything related to Attacktix?

Yes, that is correct, one or more videos are required to compete/win the video contest. So, make one if you have not already it's fun for everyone. Grievous, I think you may have set the bar a little higher with your silent film "Nefarious Plot". Well done.
