Hey guys and gals, I wanted to pass along an official update that was sent my way in response to some good questions that Radar had sent along to the 'Tix team.
I know this release provides no specifics on release dates, but it's important to realize that the relaunch is a process that they are committed to doing the right way. As soon as more official information is available, you can be sure you will see it here on the forum first. - Brett

So, Brett... Are you still involved with development in any way? You can plead the fifth if you must, we'll understand.

Yeah, it's good news. It means that more product is comming, but it also means they are taking some time to get it ready. Oh well. Given time, I'm sure it will be worth it. Then everybody will be all like...."Oh, you have a series one Yoda!"...Yeah.
Anyway, I got the same response from the Attacktix team over at Hasbro, so things are looking up.

Keep the faith, folks! It's gonna come sooner or later, and maybe this hiatus will be the best thing for Attacktix. Maybe they really do intend to revolutionize the game as much as their marketing to turn it into the game we've envisioned on this forum (with terrain, expanded rules, and maybe "squat packs.") I'm still hopeful. Patience is the key.

Great! Yes, well that is good news. Yesterday I created a group on facebook to save Attacktix; I guess I'll have to change the name : ) Thanks Webhead!

Yes, Great, Great, Great news! The type of thing we've been yearning to hear! From a greatly trusted source.
To me the game itself, figures, what not, really need no improving. The packaging, marketing, quality, Consumer Affairs/CSRs yes, Tix itself no. I hope they don't monkey with the game itself at all.
So some Attacktixman predictions:
1. The price will go up. Please no one beeotch or complain about this either. If those kiddified Galactic Heroes/Super Heroes Squad can cost $1.00 more for a 2 pack than a Booster pack of Tix (and with all the Shrink Attacktix suffered), we can be sure the price is going up.
2. Bye-Bye to Megas, atleast for awhile.
3. Some sort of slick way of packaging/combining Common/Rare/Super Rare figures to deter boostering and still make people buy alot. Or clear packaging, in which case for sure refer to #1.
But, hallelujah, we are saved! We are saved! We are saved!
Why couldn't this type of info have been with the CSRs?

I don't want to see the simplicity of tix changed. I think terrian and expanded rules could ruin it. It's beauty is that anyone can play it. If it turns into another hugely complicated miniatures game that wouldn't be good. I'm not apposed to those kind of games, I like em, but I like it that my little sibs can play with me, and my friends with out the nerd base who would never take time to learn a game like mage knight. I also hope the old figures aren't made obsolete by the new ones. I think a team from series one should be able to make a decent challenge against a series 5 team. I'm with aman on this, the marketing should be overhauled but the game should stay mostly the same.

Posted by webhead817 on Today at 9:36am Hey guys and gals, I wanted to pass along an official update that was sent my way in response to some good questions that Radar had sent along to the 'Tix team.
Quote:During the hiatus, the Attacktix team has been working to improve the game and to relaunch it for a wider audience.
We've been working daily with marketing and packaging to determine the best way to relaunch Attacktix and make it stronger than it has been in the past.

*Makes another mark on wall with rock* Well, this isn't necessarily great news, but news none the less. This is exactly what we heard a few months back. Oh, well, let's hope this actually happens this year. Thanks for the feedback, Brett. I appreciate you informing us. As for the game itself, I see no problems. Here is a list of what I do consider possible problems or roadblocks when it comes to Attacktix. Packaging. Simple! NOT! Clear or blind? Half clear? 2 per pack? 3 per pack? Combine factions or random pick? There are a lot of choices here to make and I can see downsides to all of them. Look for a new design to come out. Costs to Manufacture.I wondered how many figures have been returned after they had been twisted too hard and broken or were a bunch of common crap that nobody wanted? Look for increased costs of the figures to be passed onto the consumer. Costs to Consumer.Like I said before, Attacktix were IMO a bargain. I collected Star Wars figures for years. The price on a single figure is close to $7.00 now! We were able to get 3 Attacktix for a little more than that when they first came out. That's a good deal in my book. Look for the price to go up. Placement. Here is where I scratch my head. Where do you put these buggers? Do you place them separately in the aisles next to each respected universe? Do you place them all together? Where? Game aisle? Next to action figures? Which action figures are they going to be next to? TF, SW, or MV? Do you place them with all the other collectibles like card games SW miniatures? Look for them to be only available at certain stores like TRU where they can be placed together on an end cap or in the middle of the aisle. This is what I can come up with off the top of my head. I am sure there are other factors as well. None the less, I am excited for the relaunch and expect or hope that it will be around the time of the Star Wars animated film this summer or earlier before Gen Con 08. One last thing. Terrain, maps, or boards are a great idea to be sold separately. It could spice the game up for some individuals, but I understand that not everybody would like this idea. Simplicity is what attracted me to this game as well.

It's great to finally hear a peep from Hasbro, rather than just chirping crickets, but I'm not peeing my pants over this little blurb. I think it'd still be good to have something else up our sleeves ( petition), just in case something crazy happens (or doesn't happen). Thanks a bunch for the update Brett!

I just had a somewhat disturbing thought...
What if Hasbro sells an entire series at once, like let's say TF2 1-18 for instance, at a premium? Let's say $60-$70 bucks? maybe with one or two surprise SR's? And Starter Sets become Intro Sets?
Biggest problem with this is it might price out those who don't know how great the game is and aren't willing to spend the money upfront to get all the figs. Or the Mom or Dad who simply won't plunk down that type of money no matter how much little Johnny screams. And it certainly destroys the fun factor of collecting and trading.

And for those and several other reasons it won't happen. That being said it is nice to have an update just the same. Thanks to Radar who Webhead noted is the main reason the "press release" was authorized.

I'm so glad we finally got some positive official news.
Keep the fire alive guys.
Oh and you might want to buy the old series off of eBay before the re-launch because methinks we'll see the days of $50 Yodas and Mauls.

Brian Wilk said that we might see terrain packs. Is this true? +1 Karma, Brett!

I would also like to know why when Radar interviewed Brian the first time he said that they were going to try and get SW5 and TF2 out ASAP, but now these series seem to be on the hiatus as well?
Are these two proposed sets going to be put on the back burner for different sets with newer figures to be released first?
Are they just being scrapped?
Are they working on marketing only or figure sets as well?
We have a lot more questions here. Why can't we get more answers?
