I'm no TF heavyweight either, but I think Unicrom is a force unto himself, rather like Galactus. At times he allies himself with those he deems useful, but is independent from the main factions in the TF universe. This is very true, unicron is his own faction, and he is very "galactus-like". I wouldnt really say that he ever "allies" himself with anyone though. For example, in the first transformer movie (cartoon from the 80's) Unicron rebuilds a defeated megatron into galvatron, making him his minion (much like silver surfer to galactus). I wouldnt really say that unicron and decepticons are allies due to this... I would say they are more like unicrons little marionettes.

Agreed, it was not to say they had an equal relationship of any kind, just they were sometimes useful pawns of his. I think there was a storyline with a variety of characters trying to repower him in one of the newer series, but they were minions more that allies.

Isn't Unicron the one that the Autobots destroyed in the Transformers cartoon movie from the 80's?

I'm not super familiar with the current Transformers (t'formers from a few years ago actually) but there was a "Unicron Trilogy" in the Cybertron/Energon shows. In this version instead of making new minions Unicron called upon evil Transformers from across time/space/dimensions. So he did have Decpticons on his team.

I'm not sure what the comic book version's take on it was, but for the cartoon series' of Armada, Energon and Cybertron, Unicron was just as much of a free agent as he's always been. In the Energon, the Decepticons worked to rebuilt his body, which was wrecked by the end of Armada. They didn't want to work with him though. The Decepticons were basically divided in half over this. Megatron and his team wanted to revive and enslave Unicron to exploit his strength, while Scorponok and the Terrorcons (Battle Ravage, Insecticon, etc.), along with Alpha Q, wanted him rebuilt so they could use his power to restore their home planet. Either way, I think your beautiful Unicron custom needs a nice cozy faction all to himself.

I never really watched Transformers alot except for the movie and the Armada series. I especially remember Unicron cause it took forever for him to open up completely. Don't remember what happened after that though....oh well, nice job on the custom! What's his special?

....oh well, nice job on the custom! What's his special? The special is "Vanquish" and will be the base from Tourney Venom. May turn the Venom fig into Carnage or Toxin... ...one of these days...

Sweet. Iron Monger looks perfect with the "chest blast"...excellent work. I think I'm going to try to make my "monger" a striker...wish me luck.
Superfly, these are the "straw toppers" that 7 Eleven has out right now...you can pick them up for like a buck fifty each. They are almost exactly to "tix" scale. (just no articulation)

That Iron Monger is absolutely beautiful. I stopped today at 7-11 and they didn't have any of the straws. I'll stop by some others and see if I can find some. I did get me a cool 3-D cup though.
How many different figures did they have?
