I'll tell ya Joe, there's almost NO difference between black and blued steel. You'd have to REALLY be looking hard. I own a ton of guns, and all the 'blued steel' guns of any quality are a dark black color, and only in the direct sunlight is there a tinge of blue sheen to them. Smith and Wesson (used to) do a phenomenal job of bluing guns, and my old M.15 looks dark as the devil's soul. Like I said, there's just no real difference between 'black' and 'gunblue' except in sunlight.
Ya done good kid. ;D

I did not realize blue steel was blackish... but it makes perfect sense now

WOW thats nice too!!!! did you freehand that logo?!?!?! nice! I did free hand it but I used a Sharpy to seperate the legs, I free handed the legs in the first place and you could still see a little black through them because one coat isn't enough to cover the black effectivly. I used a glossy apple paint for the black and regular apple for the white. I'll put any future repaints on my own thread but I wanted to show this one here because I metioned it earlier, and I'm not worried about showing Joe up because his is way better then mine. The red that you see at his feet is a reflection off the base, I couldn't cover it without painting the base and I think the silver base adds effect. The red by the web was really hard to cover due to the web being translucent, and the the waist and the arms I didn't seal because I still enjoy playing with my repaints and I wanted to still be able to strike with him and move his arms. Lol, it's not stigmata, the symbiot suit shot webs from the top of the hands out of little white squares instead of from the wrist. There are lots of different version of the black suit, I just picked one. Thanks again to all the great comments, future repaints will be one my own thread. Thanks for the help Joe.

Any ideas on what I can turn a Striker Ghost Rider into?
The leather jacket is so simple, and I can probably smooth away the chains and add a non flaming head. Gotta be something out there. Marvel hopefully.

Also, on further reflection, you might also want to use the Sharpie to neaten up some of the lines on the white spider symbol on his torso. These are the sorts of things you generally don't catch until you take a picture that's several times original size.... ---Dave

Marvel hopefully. If you took parts of Venom or someone else with a spring mechanism and put ol' GR's arm (striker) and spring mechanism on it, you could make a bad-arse Spawn! Actually, upon deep reflection, you may want to instead take GR's arm striker and add it to someone who already has the spring mechanism. That would be a LOT easier. I'm thinking someone with a Venom type body, but waist-springed. OR ... you could shave the flames, add some tube-socks and shorts, and you could make a character from the old cult classic "The Warriors"... ;D

After learning the values of grinding and sanding from Indy and hobs, I realized this spidey will never be perfect. I need to sand his chest smooth because his webbing makes sharpies, paint and felt tips bleed. I am certain I will see more of this sculpt for a second attempt. And toss this one on eBay

Take the blue masking tape, cut it with an exacto into strips, make the form and VOILA!, perfecto-mundo. <Reverend Jesse Jackazz-speak> Why choose to freehand, when we are the masters of our domain, yes, WE with the opposable thumbs may deign to use tools!
