First off guys, did anyone else see this? cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=101609&item=5985448997&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVWThe tie pilot is okay, but the Darth Maul standing next to him looks pretty cool. I had a different question regarding customs. Has anyone considered customizing some of the figures that no one (at least from what I've heard) ever uses? How could Padme be customized so that she would actually be worth using? Maybe make her a 20 point figure? Increase her speed? I don't know which characters are at the bottom of everybody else's boxes, but I never use Padme, Bail Organa, Clone Commander, or Nute Gunray and his bodyguards. Maybe if the bodyguards were 10 point figures? And our poor Clone Commander... a free shot for one of your troopers? That's it? And of course there's been the discussion about not using the force blaster ObiWan because his special power can be used against you. I know these would only be house variations and could never be used in an official tournament, but do you have any thoughts? After all, what's the point of having a useless figure?

I'm with Yaggleberry. I spend a lot of time groaning about certain ignored characters, usually the ones he's mentioned. In fact, for the most part, those characters tend to be 30-point/6-speed/small-projectile characters. In my mind, a 6/small should be a 20 point character - if only because they just plain don't get used at 30!
Thematically, it would also seem the Nemoidian bodyguards probably should have been 10, but that seems unreasonable with the big base and 6 speed. And, really, this is bordering on an even bigger matter of personal annoyance - the really poor theming with this set overall. I mean, isn't a Nemoidian body guard really a battle-droid? Why aren't battledroids themed with Gunray? Why is separatist Gunray classed with Palpatine and clones?
I hate whining about this out loud, but I've rambled. It was inevitable. Check out my screen-name. This stuff gets to me, and seems REALLY easily avoided.

An Ash figure would so rock! Army of Darkness is one of my all time favorite movies.
A Freddy Kruger would be pretty cool... Or a Jason Voorhees.

Hopefully this will be the first of many.... Presenting...Qui-Gon Jinn! Now, if you put together a C3PO, any reason I can see right now for getting Series 3 will be obviated for me Quite nicely done; I like the concentrated menace you've given his face. And the special power is pretty true to what happened in the movie, too! That'll teach that nasty Darth Maul to go attacking Jedi.

I wonder though if the special might be slightly more accurate if you have a 'Jedi' in play rather than any figure. Nice Job!!!!

I've had a couple of PMs about how I made Qui-Gon, so I'll try to give a bit of instruction. Next time I'll make sure to take some in-between shots to show the steps, but for now...
In this case, I was lucky, I had an extra Agen Kolar and an extra Plo Koon. We're not big on using multiples of "named" characters in our games, so I thought, why not? First, I took Agen off his base. An Xacto knife and a small screwdriver to pry with is all you really need to cut throught the glue and pegs holding him down. Second, it's surgery time! This plastic cuts really easy, so using a sharp xacto, I cut off Agen's horns and trimmed his hair in the back. I just cut down the horns till they were flush with his forehead, but the hair was more difficult. I tried to cut "grooves" into his hair so it would look like Qui-Gon's and cut a "tie" into the hair to make it look like it was gathered at the back into a pony tail. After all this, I repainted the hair (where I had scratched it up) and the skin color. Next, I took Plo Koon off his base and used some simple super glue to reattach Agen instead. Now, the hard part! I used the pics off of another thread in this forum (I forget who posted them, but thanks!!) to make labels using a spreadsheet program of all things (it's easier to get everything lined up exactly) and printed them out on glossy label paper. The bottom needs some re-working, but otherwise, it came out pretty good!
