Despite the very low traffic through the Marvel Universe forum, I thought I'd start a thread for those who do visit here. This film, The Incredible Hulk, is very loosely connected to the previous Hulk film from 2003. Instead, it is considered a "reboot" of the franchise, complete with a new Bruce Banner. They will not be covering the creation of the Hulk in this, leaving that up to its predecessor. The movie also features the Abomination as the main villain - awesome. Most likely, you have heard very little about this film, if nothing at all. Nobody has. It is being released in 3 months (June 13th) and they have JUST released a trailer, with only a couple of promotional pictures of minor characters. I don't know what the deal is, but in the midst of all the hype for Iron Man and The Dark Knight that's been going around for months this movie's getting swallowed up. Most likely come May there will be more, but for now, this trailer is all we have. Well, and the Wikipedia page, of course. May 5th update: New trailer in both Youtube and Apple HD formats.

The special effects seem to be exactly where they were with the 2003 Hulk movie, which I actually liked. That's fine because the effects didn't really need any improvement. One big complaint that many people had about the last Hulk movie was how long it took to see Hulk. Hopefully this one paces itself a bit better so it can gain wider appeal. Thanks for posting the trailer, I hadn't seen it yet!

I do like Edward Norton, he is a definite improvement over the last actor. I don't know anything about Abomination. Looks interesting, I would like to see it on the big screen. This time it really looks as though they are going to focus on him becoming a hero of sorts.
I wonder how Iron Man is going to fit into the story?

I wonder how Iron Man is going to fit into the story? From what I heard, Tony Stark is in a scene with General Ross discussing some kind of defense plans.

Thanks for the post Ben!
This trailer looks absolutely great! Except for one thing... I absolutely detest how they made Abomination look, nothing like what I'd expect from the comics. But still, looks like a Hulkin' good time! And Edward Norton does justice to the Bruce Banner role much better than Eric Bana. Can't figure out why they insisted in Betty Ross having dark hair instead of her blonde locks though...

I was going to say that, but like I said, I really don't know anything about him. The only time I have ever seen him is when I bought my Marvelscape set and he came with it. The movie version of him looks nothing compared to the Marvelscape version. I like the Marvelscape version better. The movie version looks creepy! Yes, thanks Ben for the link. That's one movie I want to catch this summer.

this movie looks really good, but like attacktixman and greyelephant said, i dont really like what they did with abomination, wasn't he supposed to be blue?? other than that it looks like a great movie, and seems that marvel has a good lineup for the next couple years :
iron man hulk thor (2009) punisher: war zone (2008 captain america (2009) ghost rider 2 (2009) x men origins: wolverine (2009)
they all seem great!!!

Original post updated with new trailer and poster.
The second trailer makes this look loads better than the first, in my opinion. My expectations still aren't incredibly high, but after the credits scene from Iron Man I'm really looking forward to see what Marvel has planned for this.

The trailer looks very promising, and as mentioned several time Ed Norton makes a great Bruce Banner. He always makes a great emotionally conflicted character. I have a feeling this one will rock and the first '03 movie will just be forgotten like an abandoned child.

I'm glad that the first movie isn't completely being forgotten. From what I could see in the trailer, it looks like this film is picking up from where the 2003 movie left off, with Bruce's self imposed exile to South America.

I have a prediction for this movie.
Hulk is captured in the end by S.H.E.I.L.D.
I might be wrong, but with the ending of IronMan you just can't help but see that all of these movies are leading up to one totally kick arse film with all the Avengers teaming up. Some how they have to capture or convince Bruce to come with them for protection.

Caught the midnight showing last night. This basically was a Hulk Smash movie (And he actually said Hulk Smash which was amazingly satisfying). Go see it if you liked Iron Man as it continues on with the Avengers storyline.
Also, it has some great references to Captain America. So cool.

My prediction fell partly through the floor. Hulk will become part of a greater "team". Movie had some slow parts, but overall I found it enjoyable. The ending was just mind blowing. The fight with Abomination. Stark strutting his stuff.
BTW, the Hulks next opponent is The Leader. Did anyone else catch that scene in the laboratory?

BTW, the Hulks next opponent is The Leader. Did anyone else catch that scene in the laboratory? Yep, that scene luckily was made pretty obvious for many people to catch. I'm not crazy about the guy they chose to be the Leader, the dude's pretty annoyinng. But it was kind of funny how they made "Mr. Blue" that guy you talk to on the internet and he's really awesome, then you meet him in real life and he's, well, different. Iron Man 2 can't come soon enough. April 30th, 2010.
