Quite literally just got back from the 8:00 EST showing. Absolutely great movie. Robert Downey Jr. is an absolutely perfect Tony Stark, not just in appearance but he plays the part as well.
My one complaint is that it sorta slows down at some parts but when the film is moving, its moving. Also, the after-credits scene is a must-see. Hopefully they get their butts in gear and make the Cap'n America and Thor movies because I wants my Avengers!
Highly recommended.

Yeah, definitely go see this. Like, right now. Drop what you are doing and go buy a ticket for this movie.
I got to see it twice last night and will see it again tonight, it's pretty great. I think my favorite part of Iron Man was actually Tony Stark. RDJ's performance was probably my favorite part of the movie. I think I could have watched a full hour and a half movie about just his day to day life. The DVD should have 5 minute featurettes of things like "Tony Stark makes breakfast" or "Tony Stark builds some stuff".
As Grievous said, it does slow down at points, particularly after the origin story. It seems like they didn't really know what to do from there. However, it doesn't distract from the movie that much at all and it still a whole lot of fun.
Rotten Tomatoes has this rated as a 94% at 107 reviews. That is a phenomenal score for a superhero movie. In fact, I'd consider this to be my favorite superhero movie of all time.
And yes, stay after the credits, stay after the credits, stay after the credits. I cannot repeat this enough. This scene is important beyond belief and it made me shout for joy in the theater. Yes.

Just saw it late last night...awesome movie, definitely need to see it again. Definitely right in the cream of the crop of superhero movies. Pitch perfect casting, tight plot, great movie all around.
Please, for the love of mike, stay through the credits! You've been warned!

Who is ready to be jealous? Just curious. I went to the midnight showing on opening night at the ArcLight theater in Los Angeles. Yeah, I went with some of my friends and Robert Downey Jr was there. No big deal. He sat like 10 feet from me. If I got tired of watching the movie (which I didn't) I could watch RDJ watching the movie. It was like having bonus features of a DVD in a movie theater. The director of the movie was there too. They both were very pleasant and seemed like they would be cool guys to have a barbecue with. To top that off, most of you already know the movie was FANTASTIC! Stay for the ending after the credits Spoiler Alert: It is great! A couple of guys said the movie slowed down. Maybe it did, all I know is I enjoyed the whole thing. Go see this one.

That's pretty sweet, Radar. I've heard Jon Favareu is a really great guy, and that RDJ is pretty much just like Tony Stark in real life, which is awesome.
Well, after a successful $101 million dollar opening weekend, Marvel Studios has greenlighted an Iron Man 2, set for April 10th, 2010. But that's not all.
The announcement included an update of Marvel Studios' feature film slate with the already-rumored Iron Man 2 announced for a release on April 30, 2010, followed by three more movies for the summers of '10 and '11. Matthew Vaughn's Thor is set for a release on June 4, 2010, and The First Avenger: Captain America (the working title) will kick off the summer of 2011 on May 6, followed by the highly-anticipated and foreshadowed The Avengers scheduled for July 2011.
I'm pretty much psyched out of my mind at this point. Grievous, you're gettings your Avengers!

Yes! I knew I'd heard rumors of an Avengers movie coming out of this but I was NOT expecting it in 2011. I was more thinking something like 2014 or quite a way off. Awesome. Now, if they make Kang the villain my life will be complete...

Just got back from seeing the movie, and it was amazing! The movie totally exceeded my expectations. RDJ was exactly what I wanted for the role of Tony Stark, and then some. I won't post any spoilers, so all I have to say to anyone that hasn't seen it yet is "GO SEE IT!". It won't disappoint.

We were so excited that the cops told us to leave the premises, no seriously, but hey it was great.

Wonderfully done! I left this movie walking on the clouds. How could you not be pumped up with your chest sticking out after watching this film? We should see Tony with a new buddy flying around with him in the next film. Can you say W.M.? Just think, we are getting another Spiderman and Wolverine along with Thor, Hulk, and C. America as well. There could be lots of characters in this Avengers film. ;D Good stuff.

This was probably by far one of my most favorite movies. It was so amazing, and very well done. I was there with SinisterSyndicater and Defender. I highly recommend it, and I would definitely go see it again.

We saw it yesterday, fun movie, well done, good effects and acting.
Here's to hoping Avengers doesn't devolve into the debacle that the Justice League movie is becoming.

Here's to hoping Avengers doesn't devolve into the debacle that the Justice League movie is becoming. I wouldn't worry too much about this. The next 3 years for Marvel is pretty much completely devoted to the Avengers project with Iron Man, the Hulk, Thor, and the Cap all in for it. I couldn't see them pulling away the Avengers movie if they are spending all this time to set it up, unlike the Justice League which is more self-existent. I went to go see Iron Man for the fifth time last night and it still was just as good.
