i'm sure everybody knows this but, they have all the original episodes on dvd in series collections as well as the movie with the really weird junkbots and sharkticons. an idea for a drinking game would be every time in the old series optimus prime says "i wish i could believe that"--drink. i wonder if they'll ever rerelease or have attacktix of the thundercats, he-man in cat form.

did no one like my carebears-shirtales idea? I thought it was funny. ;D Not to over-analyze, but the problem with it is that Hasbro doesn't have the Care Bear license. We'd have to settle for "My Little Pony" AttackTix.

here's a trivia question for you how are megatron and galvatron connected? hint: it's covered in the old transformers movie. (of which i actually have on dvd) ANSWER: Galvatron is actually a re-formatted version of Megatron that was created by Unicron. Starscream left Megatron for dead, leaving him floating in space when Unicron picked him (and other Decipticons) up and then re-created him as Galvatron. Wow! Seeing this information about Transformers Attacktix is awesome! I picked up the original seasons on DVD and my wife couldn't believe I actually bought them. It got worse when my 4 year old daughter started walking around the house talking about Megatron and Optimus Prime. I am a HUGE Star Wars fan and only got into Attacktix because of Star Wars. Before I bought any, I was contemplating do I or don't I want to start another collection? I'm glad I did and now I will have the Transformers to add to it!

Don't get too excited yet folks. The first series of Transformers Attacktix won't be based on the classics we all know and love. Series 1 will be based on the show Transformers Cybertron that is currently airing on Cartoon Network. www.hasbro.com/transformers/default.cfm?page=browseThere will be some familiar names like Optimus, etc. and some of them look pretty cool. Who knows some people here may end up really digging them.

Okay, I was looking at sfx500's link there... didn't Megatron used to transform into a gun?

Yes he used to... like 20 years ago. Since then he's been a tank, a T-Rex, a dragon, a spaceship, etc., etc., etc. With each new series the transformers change. You can think of each series as an alternate universe with a new storyline and new characters (same names though). Check out this page www.bwtf.com/ Off to the left you'll see a category header 'The Generations'. That's how many different toy lines there have been.

Well, I guess it has been a few years since I last watched Transformers... Optimus Prime doesn't seem to have undergone quite the severe makeover though.

Actually all of the TF series do follow a coherant timeline...they take place in distant spans of time, and the introduction of time travel in BEAST WARS muddles it up a bit, but it's all one story. There have been at least two "Megatrons", one of whom named himself after the other.

You know, time travel tends to make things a lot more complicated. I scrapped the plans for my time machine after watching the Van Damme classic Time Cop. That whole thing with matter not being able to occupy the same space at the same time (?) and then watching the guy turn into playdoh was pretty rough.

Actually all of the TF series do follow a coherant timeline...they take place in distant spans of time, and the introduction of time travel in BEAST WARS muddles it up a bit, but it's all one story. There have been at least two "Megatrons", one of whom named himself after the other. No, they are not all in the same timeline. Some are. Like the original Transformers, Beast Wars, Beast Wars Metals and Beast Machines were, but that's about it. I know for a fact that the 'Car Robots' was in an alternate universe www.bwtf.com/cr/intro/As well as the 'Robots in Disguise' line www.bwtf.com/tfrid/And 'Armada' www.bwtf.com/armada/These were what you would call 'reboots'. They took somewhat familiar characters and storylines and presented them in a new way. Similar to the way the Japanese Godzilla movies have been working for the past few years. Since 'Godzilla 2000' each movie has existed in it's own world with no ties to previous movies except the black and white original. An attempt was made to unite all of these diverse universes in the 'Transformers Universe' toy and storyline. www.bwtf.com/universe/Unicron was attacking and Transformers from all times and universes were called together to fight for or against him. This is also similar to what is going on in the world of comics. The comic book 'The Amazing Spider-Man' is a different universe or reality than the newer 'Ultimate Spider-Man'. You can expand it to consider that the movies and cartoons are a different world as well. A story line that is running in the 'Ultimate Fantastic Four' has that team visiting the Fantastic Four of the more classic Marvel Universe. It gets a bit confusing, but it's more than just a bit of time travel that's mucking up the works.

hey, time travel has given plenty of good things too, like pheonix, cable, stryfe, longshot, shatterstar, bishop and arnold schwarzenegger to name a few. longshot and shatterstar may be considered interdeminsional travel but, it's still across time and space so i included them too.
