Interesting, another view of scarlet with better levels to the image: My only concern is that if she battles the Baroness (who I'm surprised doesn't have jet black hair?) then it is black on black, no contrast, sigh. I guess we'll see if it works in the end.

Ooh! Scarlett with her crossbow! If they don't have her and Baroness square off, that would be like missing the cat fight of the century! You know which G.I. Joe custom I'll be doing next. I think I'll do a G.I. Joe Custom Tix "Starter Set" give away contest just before the movie comes out - Duke, Heavy Duty, Destro & Baroness. Time to give back to the community that's given so much to me, what do you guys think? Yo Joe!

I don't know, call me a purist, but I've never been that keen on everything converting to black leather/rubber suits. I think the traditional design that has held true since I was a kid still holds up ok as shown in this five minute recolor I did here: edit:for spelling

Ionic, you are amazing! That's exactly how they should have made her make her look like. What's wrong with these people? It is so obvious! Looks like they are trying real hard to go the Sigma 6 route. Atleast they put in some camo on Hawk and Cover Girl.

I also doubt it will do as well as Transformers, but it is shaping up to be good. I'm kinda upset that Duke isn't blond, and the similar costume color schemes might get old after a while, but I'm still excited for the movie. Now let's see some more villains!

I agree! I feel this selection of actors and costumes are about as lame as it gets. I'm losing desire to see the film. Well, Covergirl might still get me to see it.

Here are some new cast photos: gicobra.com/I'd post them here, but they'd need some major resizing, they're huge.

Destro with no mask?!?... Blasphemy!
All in all these designs are leaving me a little flat.

Cool Find Defender! But Why OH Why are most of the Joe's in all Black, instead of GREEN and cameo?! It Takes away from the All Black coolness of Snake-eyes and The Baroness. Why can't directors just Leave things the why they're supposed to be?! Why can't the X-men have on spandex and G.I.Joe get army gear?! GOD!!

I understand that this thread is over a year old, but i find it sad that no one is talking about the movie.

Probably because Transformers and Wolverine have been hogging the attention. I'd definitely still like to see GI Joe. The last trailer I saw for it showed this strange acid missile being launched at the Eiffel Tower. It ate away at it until the thing collapsed! Pretty cool!

We saw it last night. I saw some of the small number of reviews that were made about it, and they definitely hit the nail on the head: MUCH BETTER THAN TRANSFORMERS ROTF!!! The pace was perfect, the action scenes were very well done (especially the Paris chase), there wasn't any stupid humor that left me shaking my head, and this movie actually had such a thing as character development! Snake Eyes was perfect. Heavy Duty is a relative newcomer to the Joe Universe, but he was good. Scarlet was good, but her love interest seems to have been changed from the cartoon/comic. Everyone else seemed to fit on the team very nicely, including the one I was most worried about: Duke. He's is supposed to be confident but not arrogant, brave but not stupid, and overall a very likable character, which is why I was worried when I first saw Channing Tatum. Guy looks like a c0cky jerk. But he pulled it off very well and he didn't make me hate his character like I thought he would. Kudos! The villains were all, well... villainy! The Baroness was pretty ruthless and it was great to actually hear why she's a baroness. Don't quite remember that ever being explained before! Destro was greedy and maniacal, so don't be too upset about his lack of a mask! Zartan was on the sidelines for much of the movie, but he kept very true to his disguise-wearing cartoon counterpart. Storm Shadow wasn't as cool as Snake Eyes, but they did an excellent job with going into their back story. And the regular Cobra troops were as mindless and laughable as Stormtroopers but in fewer numbers and MUCH harder to kill. Almost forgot about the vehicles- lots of them! That's one thing that's always stood out to me as just awesome: the sheer amount of vehicles that the Joes and Cobras had to pull from, and there was no shortage of them in this movie. Very well done. I'd say go into this movie expecting something terrible. You'll be pleasantly surprised! It was, as I said, much much better than TF:ROTF. And keep in mind one thing while watching: It's called The Rise of Cobra. I seemed to forget about that little subtitle and spent most of the movie wondering what/where Cobra was. You'll find out, just be patient!
