Posted by webhead817 on Today at 3:07pm Perhaps next year, thinking that the relaunch could still be in full swing, we can get something a bit more official going on. |
Saves me $45.00 I guess. However, on the plus side, TixCon 2008 is already starting to come together, and it looks like the odds are good that we will be welcoming another Hasbro game into the event for the day/weekend...details to come. |
Sounds good! Another Hasbro game into the event? Interesting.

Any details available yet? Month? Location? Could the other Hasbro game be Hero Scape? I've always wanted to try that game.

Well I will be there mostly playing Heroscape, but if anyone wants to school me in Attacktix I will be there.

I'm not so sure about this "other game". Yeah, Heroscape looks cool. I like the Marvel characters. The fighting monks are great, but it seems kind of silly to fly half way across the continent to not just play Attacktix.

Yeah, I like Tix enough to come ask my dumb newb questions here everyonce in a while, but I don't have a ton of them and I have never played it competitively. I just like to play with friends in the attic sometimes. I have over 200 games and Attacktix is just one of them that works its way into the schedule.
That is why Gen Con is so awesome! There are so many games. 4 days just isn't enough:(

Is there anybody that is going to Gen Con here in a couple of weeks? I'm thinking of attending 1 day. I've never been before and want to see what it's all about. I've heard great things about it. Who knows, maybe I can find something about Attacktix there. Yeah right!

I am 70% sure that I won't, unless of course you want to trade the Heroscape stuff that day, in which case I would probably entice mama to let me go...PM me on that trade deal when you get a chance and perhaps we'll coordinate - I really want to play in the SW minis 100pt Jedi Master challenge since the prize is 2500$!!!

Quick rundown... We were there Friday afternoon, all day Saturday, and Sunday morning. Ran into GreyElephant JUST before we left on Friday afternoon. Two vendors had 'tix, one had Marvel, the other had SW series 1 . No singles that I saw. New games: Demoed Monsterpocalypse. Good looking larger figures, but slightly more complicated gameplay than I expected. (As a side note, the full size figures are roughly 'tix scale, so I wouldn't be surprised to see them as customs.) World of Warcraft Minis looked good as well right next door, but I didn't get a chance to demo it. The preview figures where fetching top dollar for sure. HeroScape figs were gone in moments each day from what I heard. New game I'm playing now: AT-43 from Rackham by way of Fantasy Flight. FF had the largest traditional game type space on the vendor floor, and a lot of nice pre-packed pre-painted mini game components. AT-43 is a sci-fi military style game, in a similar vein to Warhammer 40K I suppose. There are 4 armies, human soldiers that are "UN" style, aliens that look like a cross between General Grievous and the Alien aliens, Gorillamen, and human soldiers that are "USSR" style. The starter set for this game was probably the best value of the show...a true two player starter with something like 10 terrain pieces, two armies each with a "tank" and two squads of figs, rules etc, for 40 bucks. And that's about it. D&D didn't take as center a stage as I would have expected, but then again, it's "out" now, so WotC featured more upcoming products. If anyone has any questions, let me know.

My 2 cents...... Gen Con was terrific! If you've never done it before you should do it next year. Tons of games that I would have loved to demoed before I HAD to leave. I actually got there at 7:15 A.M. on Friday. I was able to walk around quite a bit before the exhibition hall opened up. There was such a great deal of terrain and boards that made me salivate all over myself. I did get Agent Skahen when they opened the doors at 10:00. It was sooooo much fun running over (nerds) on my way to obtaining her. My nephew was able to grab one as well. Things I found interesting. Monsterpocalypse. Very good looking figures. However the price is too high for me to want to get involved in this game. Plus they have blind boosters and they can stuff that garbage. StarCraft The Board Game. Freakin' beautiful! Can't wait to get mine in the mail. WarCraft The Board Game. Looked great! The pieces along with the board looked very well detailed. Conan. Looked like fun. Wished I had a chance to demo this one. Confrontation. Beautiful, period. Along with these I found several other game that were eye catching. I would have loved to of sat down and played them. Time is such a tease........ Things I bought. A lexan map that works perfect for my Heroscape tiles that is 26''*24" for $7.00! What a deal IMO. A Heroscape Master Set ROTV for $22.00 Heroscape Lava set for $20.00 A company called "out of the box" got most of my monies. I bought: Ninja VS Ninja 10 Days in Asia 10 Days in USA Backseat Drawing Qwitch Pepper Blink Fish Eat Fish Cloud 9 Great games. I especially love Ninja vs Ninja. I was able to check out the Heroscape tournament as well. Everybody was totally nice. I was able to check out the boards and watch people play. Totally fun, I might have to participate next year in the tournament. Each person who participated got a FREE Agent Skahen. Other than that I was able to bump into Webhead like he mentioned above. He was buying Attacktix S1 SW when I caught sight of him. Webhead, what prevents us from having TIX CON 09 at Gen Con? There were soooo many tournaments! I don't think you had to buy a ticket to just walk in and participate in a tournament outside of the exhibition hall do you? It's the perfect place to show off Attacktix and meet everybody. We could have walk-ins to battle as well. BTW- They had Attacktix in the kids room. ;D

Can't do it at Gencon because less people will show.
