I have had this marked on my calendar for some time now, but I just can't go due to work obligations. Good luck to everyone! Hope to see you next year!

Just got home (1:00 A.M.) and have to just say "THANK YOU, BRETT" once again. I had a wonderful time and am so happy that my wife and I was able to make it this year. She was telling me how much fun she had on our way home. I seriously appreciate it with how you were helping us out with our little one. It made it that much more enjoyable. Not to mention all the wonderful prizes. I can't wait for video and pictures to be posted. ;D

Thank you to everyone who made Tixcon 2008 possible, especially Brett We made it home safe and sound here in PA just after 2am (We left Toledo 10pm, after getting PizzaHut). I will say on behalf of the 6 of us we were thoroughly exhausted and delighted to see and play with everyone again.

Had a great time - I loved the new layout it made it much easier to walk around and made for more side games.
Really enjoyed seeing everyone again (and meeting those I had not met before).
Thanks to Brett and crew for all their work in putting this together!

This was the most fun I have ever had in a group of people (come on, most of us have had more fun with just one person ). I cannot wait for another tourney. Not just for the fun, but to have my revenge on TNT for distracting me, getting into my head and basically ruining my game. I loved seeing the customs. Unicron was amazing; a really beautiful job. I am also glad I now have a sentinel to play with. I am really jazzed to work on some customs of my own. I want the TFX figures!!!!!! So glad Brett kindly unpacked them so I could have a look-see. I really appreciate everyone making it possible for me to play by working around our baby swapping. Brett and family were wonderful. Almost everyone was courteous, helpful, friendly, and I saw and benefitted from all around good sportsmanship. I particularly enjoyed playing with Mike and Jason. Great teams and strategies. I am a little disappointed that I was never up against Chris and the teddy bears, Pete's 100 point SW, and several others, but that gives me something to look forward to. And of course, thanks for my prize Brett!

There are two rules I would like to discuss that I felt would have made the experience even better.
I will start a new thread to discuss this.
With that said, everything else went perfect. Had a blast and look forward to next year. Tix Con 09!

I have to say that I had a ton of fun this year! The turnout could have been a little better, but that was expected due to the current status of the game, but it was still fun with those that showed up! I liked how things were planned out this year, especially the included lunch break, which made a very big difference. Also the playtime was very well. I liked that we were able to have a few side tournaments after the main event. My favorite being the giant Battle Royal . Congrats to Webhead for another successful year of Tixcon, and also for showing Defender of New Paradron and all of us that we still have a lot of work to do! Haha

Sounds like ya'll had a ton of fun at TixCon 08. I really, really wish I could have made it to this one but it wasn't meant to be. I do have this question: Did anyone take advantage of Hoth Chewie in Launchers Only? I'd think he'd be a beast in the format since he's running around on 12-speed with a 60+% chance of handing out Shootbacks when he falls. He even has an advantage of Venom since he can just run over and pop him in the jaw. I'd almost consider running a whole squad of them... Oh, and pics of prizes and TF-X would be much appreciated. Real curious about what the unreleased figs look like and what the trophy figures for this year were .

No, no one used Chewie that I noticed. The winner won with pretty much Venom alone. It's ridiculous with just how many games are won with him. I wished I would have thought about Chewie, because I was thinking of changing up my team a bit before I went. With packing not only figures for myself, but also for my wife and niece it made it hard to want to stray away from what I am comfortable with and forget something. Yeah, too bad you didn't come. We had around 20 players I think. It was enjoyable, but I would have liked to seen around 10-20 more. Hopefully we'll get some new figures coming out to spark the crowd a bit more for next year. It was great to finally meet Brett. Super nice guy. Got to speak with him one on one several times and I found that to be enjoyable. Good times all around. I just want those TF-X!

Some highlights for me are as follows. 1. Winning the 200 point master championship. This was truly a great accomplishment for anyone who love the game of Attacktix. 2. Watching my wife receive her prize for winning the 100 point Transformers championship. That was a goal she practiced for more than you know it. 3. Playing against Katie (I believe that was her name) in the Marvel tournament. She was so funny! I let her get me down to my last figure and she was loving it. She was a sweet heart her and her whole family. Hope to see you guys again next year. 4. Meeting Brett for the first time. 5. Seeing the newer figures! They looked terrific. 6. Seeing my niece win 3rd in Star Wars 100 point tournament. She was hoping for better, but to lose to Pete and Chris is no shame at all. Truly great players each. 7. Winning some of the auctions. 8. Meeting some of the newer DONP posse. Some of you guys are just plain silly. I know you know who I'm talking about. 9. Getting ideas based off of some of the custom tables that were set up. I wish to make my own and was wondering how to do some things here and there. I found a great set up that would work perfectly. 10. Tying for first place with the custom contest. I loved making Godzilla and am happy others took the time to vote for him. Though I am glad I didn't win. I would have felt a little guilty walking out the door with 4 cases full of trophy figures. Or would I? ;D 11. Playing in the 200 point tournament against my niece. She had only a 20 point Luke and a 30 point Luke against my Venom and Jedi Knight. Her Luke had already recovered 5 times in a row and I was nervous about attacking him again. I attacked her 20 point Luke with my Jedi giving her a free move and attack for her other Luke. She attacked my Jedi with him leaving my Venom to shoot her down with my second attack. That was one of the best games I had played all night. She was such a competitor. 12. ConaChris shooting over my Venom from about 12'' away. What an amazing shot! I wish someone was there to record it. You just can't appreciate it as much without seeing it for yourself. Great shooting Chris! 13. Beating S.F. for the second time in the 200 point championship. Our first game was a slug fest. I was worried about playing him again. Great match that I felt honored to win. Pete's a competitor to the end. 14. The drive home. You couldn't slap the smile off of my face. 15. Meeting each and every one of you guys. From the sinister six in DoNp's party, imvader3's family, tixman1017, and of course Pete and Chris. See you all again next year!

Webhead is simply the best. The man should get the key to Autobot City. This was just as much fun as the last and I look forward to him keeping the torch going for 09. The man is just so good at prepping events.
That being said, it was great to play with all of you again, and it was great to win a title and place in other events. Beating Chris in the 200 pointer was more satisfying than pretty much anything other than seeing my daughter for the first time! The guy beats me SENSELESS 8 of 10 times! The battle versus GE was no less than all out war of masters. Kasparov and Fisher, but with bullets and bludgeons. We both know that we're equally matched in pretty much all regards, but I made a mistake that cost me the match (or at least didn't help my cause) when I took a long shot on a 2-Jedi Knight kill from 20 tix with a S4 Greedo and the rattigans stayed up. Either way, he played a phenomenal match and certainly deserved the title of Master Champion. Playing TheHairyTruth was also quite the adventure - she is a great competitor but I completely baffled her by NOT rushing her and picking off her figures from afar; most people remember me for exceptionally accurate multi-kill strikes and forget that I am a better shooter than striker! =D
Losing to LarimusPrime in the 100-point shooters only tournament (that I almost missed) was disappointing. I played really, really poorly due to overconfidence after beating everyone else I played pretty quickly and not knowing that Gold Super Optimus would stand back up 5 times consecutively. I rushed his figures with my "ElectroVenomGreedo" stack and I should've stayed back. It really goes to prove that even an underdog can crush you in an instant if you don't play at your best level at all times and underestimate someone simply because you don't know them. Hats off to him and his buddy "ReallyNiceGuy" who beat him in the final match.
Again, thanks to all who showed up, especially IMVader3 and his family who came from NORWALK, CT to play. Debbie is a really lovely lady and a great mother, and IMVader3 really played well the whole time as did his sister Hannah.
It's the people that keeps bringing me back to this silly game! =D

I have to point out some highlights now. Playing Superniceguy was an enjoyable challenge. I was so proud of knocking out 2 Goblins with one strike from Kit Fisto. It did not work too well for me when he was captured and Jason proceeded to march him all over the field as one of the two figures he had left when I was defeated. It was a great game, and I was happy with the day at that point. Or so I thought... I then went on to play Casey. Once again a challenging game. His team had my spideys shakin in their boots. I was glad it was a double elimination and I hadn't missed playing him. A great player and an enjoyable game. I was sad that it came down to me or Jessie. It was the only game of the night that I got more than my fair share of whites to come up and that ultimately eliminated her from the competition. Playing Superfly was neither fun nor enjoyable. The only funny part was when I hit his Vader and he did a back-flip only to stand back up. He took a strategy that I could have dealt with at the beginning of the night, but after playing so many games and needing dinner it caught me off guard. My team was back to a low percentage of whites. His Golden KAM (which he sacrificed) was white and mine was not, which will pretty much decide any game. And to finish me off he was a master at distraction and trash talking. Not enjoyable for me at all, but gives me a challenge for the next time. We all had so much fun that we talked about Attacktix and the tournament all the way home for 4 hours. It made the drive fly by.
