It was a lot of fun. At the peak, we had about 2 dozen people (well short of my target 100 people), but everyone had fun.
A lot of the kids didn't bring their own figures, so I had to bust out my bag of extras. .....I think most of them are still there...I think.
We tried to run several events, but there just wasn't time, plus most people showed up at least an hour late. 3 hours shot by, and parents came to pick up their kids. We were just about to start the "Choose Your Opponents Team", but it was too late, kids were all going home.
My biggest problem was that my camera man didn't show up! I delegated that responsibility to one of my friends here because from this experience I learned one thing "I cannot do everything". I'm so tired right now. Trying to get everything done really took a lot out of me. There were still thematic stuff that didn't get built, I just didn't have the time for everything.
But that's OK, because it should be built for the next Ultimate Galactic Showdown! We are planning another one somewhere in between 2 and 6 months.
Anyway, I was busy running the event, so I didn't film during the matches, but I did get a couple of people to get a few minutes worth of footage during the event. The video will be short, but it is coming soon.
I loved doing this, I learned a lot. I can't wait to do it again.

Sounds like it went OK given the timing restrictions in the end, but hopefully everyone had a good time. Any truth to the rumors that Snoop Dogg was there?

Glad it went well though, hope that pictures can be found on someone's camera. Who won the events?

As I remember: Pac-Dad, Pac-Man, and Michael (a guy from my youth group) all won an adult event. For the Youth: Caleb won 2 events and Destroyer 295 won the last event. I wish we had time for more, but once Snoop Dogg came in..... It became very distracting for everyone.....wait that didn't happen on the same day.... Which is too bad, I'd love to get some video of Snoop playing some 'tix. Anyway,....almost everyone showed up late and played very defensively, so we ran out of time, but everyone had fun. I watched the video that was shot. Most of it is related to figures, but there are a few good close ups on people. Work is kind of crazy right now, so I probably wont be able to get that video edited and posted until this weekend. -Radar

You are aware that the DB on the left with the peace sign, trying clearly to emulate Snoop, is in fact poorly emulating the "XIII" 13th Street Crips gang sign, aren't you? This has historically been misconstrued as "W" for Westside, but it's in actuality affirmation of gang affiliation.
Either way, off the heezy.

Well, I don't know what ol' Snoop is doing, but I'm pretty sure my guy was doing the peace sign. He's a good guy. Too smart to get hooked into any gang situation.

So, does this mean that you managed to see Pac-Man and Pacdad in the same room or was it like a bad comic book and they were never seen together, one always having 'just stepped out'?

No, I've seen them together multiple times and I even met some of their family at the Star Wars Celebration 4 Convention. They are good people.

ROFL. Love the music when you're standing on the roof. Looks like a bunch of folks had a heck of a time. You definately did a great job setting up, too. Looked great.
What was with the kid holding the orange tray? Was he afraid of catching a blaster round?
Looked like a lot of newcomers to the game from the way they held the figs - you did a great job of advertising for Hasbro... and what was with the Mafia guy at the end? Slicked hair talking about 'eh I gotta go'... was he security? ;D
