Ok, here are some pictures of the Pit of Carkoon I have made.
CREATION PROCESS:
I used foam core, and added a height of 2 inches. I cut out the pit in the middle and left a bridge (from the ground to the skiff, even though it is level)
I also left two inches off the side of the bridge, and folded them down so that it would have some support.
I made the Skiff out of some random pieces of foam core, basically with a small rail and only one opening. The rail will help defend from some projectiles and also keep him from being knocked off. Giving the figure on the Skiff the advantage.
I sprayed the whole pit area with Sand Fleck Stone spray paint. Then after about FIVE layers of Clear Coat it is finally able to be TIXed on. Now, you have to do it gently, but it DOES work!
The Skiff was sprayed black, with a bunch of Clear Coat too.
GAME PLAY:
The Pit Scenario is played on a regular table, like the Battle Case. It is just another element of the larger table. I play with the bridge perpendicular to the length of the table.
The object is to get ON the Skiff, so the Skiff stays to one side, and you must CLIMB onto the pit area, and then cross the bridge.
Basically, we can put a flag on the Skiff, and play a typical CTF game. (With the turret on the rear edge of the skiff). Or King of the Hill. KotH will be fun, because the first person on there will have an awesome advantage, but if they are a striker (who move quicker) they will do little damaged from their perch. But if you get a shooter up there, you can do a hell of a lot.
Now, all I need is a friend to play test it and tell you how cool it is. (Then all we need is for Hasbro to make a REAL one, because I said so!)
Here are the pics!
