Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls...

The First Annual Superfly TNT ATTACKTIX Tournament is ON!
Date: July 22, 2006
Time: 2:30PM to 9:00PM
Place: Roberts Centre
http://www.robertscentre.com/hotel-location.html

Tournament Start: 4:00 stragglers welcome until 4:15 or so.
Tournament Rules: See YodaBreaker's UnOfficial Rules in this forum.
Tournament Details:
>>Must use your own Attacktix
>>STAR WARS Attacktix Only. Keep the transformers on the power poles.
>>ALL Series 1-4 Are OK, and ONE SILVER PRIZE FIG PER SQUAD
>>200 Point Matches with 100 Points of Backups
>>Single Elimination - no best 2 of 3s
>>May use ANY figures, with a limit of 5 duplicates per match (ie, no 20 Jedi Knights. Sorry, but the consensus is it's a bad idea)
>>NO MEGAS.
>>Everyone Gets In For Free!!!! No Cover Charge; dis ain't no reggae potty mon!
>>Anyone 10 and up can play in the tournament, but no help from parents (ie. actually SHOOTING a gun)
>>An appointed Referee (Malform) will be judging for cheats and whatnot, unless he's IN the match, then I will referee. If we end up playing each other, than someone else will have to step up.
>>Anyone participating in the Tournament will be asked to kick in 5$ for an entry fee. I love y'all but I am not a money tree! :)

PLEASE CONFIRM WITH ME by PMing me or adding to this post. AS SOON AS POSSBILE so I can get with the hotel to make sure acoomodations are there for you. If anyone handicapped or in any way needs special assistance, let me know and I will make arrangements for the hotel staff to help and make sure we have 36" wide doors for wheelchairs.

There's a MAX AND ERMA'S in the hotel, and I will see about getting some snacks/appetizers/foodstuffs. No promises. The Wife will likely make 3 dozen Devilled Eggs (food fo the GODS!) I would reccomend bringing something, or perhaps stopping at the Dairy Queen/BP station just before the Hotel Entrance. Cheaper there!

This sounds great! 200 point single elimination rounds will be fun to hear about, I wish I could go.

Will those who lose continue to play in any type of loser bracket? Just curious?

This is going to rock! I cant wait!

Im a little disapointed with the 5 fugure max rule, thought it maight be cool to break out all 20 battle droids at one time... But like I really do understand, and I think its a good rule.

I agree in the disappointment at the "no more than 5 duplicate figure" rule - but then again, that would be because the 20 Jedi Knights would take great pleasure in pwning your 20 Battle Droids ;) Wish I could be there!

After talkng with some folks, I figured that 20 battle droids or Jedi Knights or whatever would be an unfair disadvantage to those who perhaps do not have the financial resources as some of the luckier (or more talented) players. I figured that the tourney should reflect a level playing field based upon skill. I mean, there's a REASON that the Yankees are always in the top 5. They have the money to buy the talent. Someone with 20 battle droids playing would, in my opinion and those who I've spoken with, represent an unfair advantage to those who perhaps do not have the money to trade, buy or otherwise acquire them. Let's see who's the best player, not the best businessperson or barterer. And I DO have quite a few BDs and JKs (although NOT 20) and I'm excluding myself from that as well.

As for the "Loser Table", I've got a BUNCH of tables where anyone can play. Make side bets, do whatever y'all want at that. I've got quite a few prizes planned, so there should be a good incentive for everyone. I'd like to have some warm-up games as well, so people who've been driving (like ME) for a couple of hours to get there aren't at a disadvantage either.

Sorry if I piss anyone off about the 5 per unit limits, but it's my dime! :)

I thought the Yankees always won cause the other teams can't stop staring at those pinstripes.

A new turn of events has come up, and as you see above in the original post, GETTING IN THE DOOR IS NOW FREE! Playing in the tourney, though, will cost you 5$. This is to offset the cost of the special, uber-prize....

Also a clarification on the rules:

The 5-same-figure limit is only for the EXACT SAME figure; 5 S1-4 Clone Troopers and 5 S1-5 Clone Troopers is valid, whereas 10 S1-4 Clone Troopers is not, as it infringes the rule. This was to avoid stacked teams like 20 Jedi Knights, or 10 Kit Fistos or 20 Battle Droids....

Clarification on Rules:
Someone PM'ed me about this so I figured I'd share. All strikers with one free hand, like Yoda, Tion, Agen, Royal Guard may be glued into place. I see no problem with this due to Hasbro's response:

Q: Can I glue my Yoda's other hand on to his lightsaber?
A: Yes, you may glue Yoda's other hand to the lightsaber. Add glue neatly and carefully and he will still be Tournament legal. [HASBRO]

Q: My new Grievous Bodyguard feels stiffer than my older one, why is this?
A: Hasbro has revised two figures from Series 1: Grievous Bodyguard and Yoda. The Bodyguard was made with a stronger grade of plastic, and Yoda now comes with his right hand glued to his lightsaber.

Good enough for Yoda, good enough for all of them. Otherwise, YodaBreaker's UnOfficial Tournament Rules apply. I will have a FEW copies there, but if you are the type to get mad about "I didn't know the rules", read up in this forum on his Tourney Rules. It's actually a phenomenal document.
