There finally here kids!!! Images of the new Attacktix we're going to be seeing first half of 2007. Feast your eyes on these...

STAR WARS

Starter Set

With a throwing Darth Vader?!? (perhaps when he 'threw' stuff at Luke in Empire)

Hoth Han!

Chewbacca with a gun (haven't seen this figure before - insert sarcasm)

and a Heavy Stormtrooper repaint.

Yoda is translucent!!

Plo Koon has a HUGE BASE!!

Both Yoda and the Emperor have Effect bases (the Emperor is even up a level)

TRANSFORMERS

Starter Set

With Optimus/Megatron/a 'force' blastin Starscream and Scorponic(sp?) repaint

MARVEL SERIES 2!

Iron Man (with effect)
Nightcrawler
The Human Torch
Mr. Fantastic
Storm
Kingpin
Grey Hulk (S! repaint)
Nick Fury
SHIELD grunt
Spidey on MK team
Jean Grey
Cyclops
Bullseye
Scorpion

In this above image it looks like Optimus is a 'force blaster' and Darth might have some 'snow' on his base.

I love it all!!

Where the Wampa? The new tournament sets? Hopefully there may be a surprise or 2 still in store for Toyfair.

Here are some links to more images...

Some better pics can be found at http://www.asmzine.com/toyfair07/ (and the Marvel starter has Skywarp and Landquake as the recolors).

Throwing Darth looks like the bit from Jedi, where he tosses the Emperor. Maybe he has a special power to throw opposing figures?

Very cool! Thanks for the pics!

I'm glad to see that G1 Optimus and Megatron are coming as the Starter Sets.

Interesting that many S5 SW and S2 TF have different bases/costs than what's on the Attacktix site (such as Plo Koon being a big base). I love that Yoda and Emperor have effects.

What's up with Yoda being only 10 points I wonder?

You're right dvandom. Those pics you found are awesome. It's too bad nobody has a clear shot of Lando's base. I can't wait to see what his final team is (Rebel or Bounty Hunter)

Yeah, I noticed the inexpensive cost of Yoda too. I wonder what his effect is. This looks really awesome! About how long does Hasbro manufacture and sell these figures before they're "out of print"?

AAAAH! NO! I still haven't gotten all of Transformers S1, SW S4, or Marvel 1! Hopefully Marvel won't come out too soon. But the Human Torch looks (pardon my pun) hot.

It seems like each series runs about 6 months or so. I'm guessing that Yoda's label has a misprint - having a 10 point striker with excellent defense and an effect seems a bit absurd.

Apparently, I was wrong about my "Qui-Gon's effect" speculation (no apparent "effect base"), but it's neat to see that there may be a new style of base entirely to denote effects figures. From the little bit I could see, Lando looked like his faction symbol had an "extended left arm", like what you'd expect from a Bounty Hunter. I think the "snow" on Vader's base is actually a Rebel helmet, a la Chief Chirpa standing on a Stormtrooper's helmet.

The neatest part of this is the new Marvel set. They're using a lot of the translucent plastic that made Ghost Rider so neat to behold. Looks like they've solved the Cyclops problem with a transparent red column of eye flame to house a launching mechanism. And Jean Grey's translucent launching goodness is going to make the strongest case yet for tilting the base up for distance shots - that launching mechanism is waaaaaay too low to be effective in most situations. I might post more thoughts here, but these are the main things I noticed offhand.

Man, we were right there, probably standing next to each other! I wish I had gotten in touch with you before hand!

The one thing I don't see pictures of (because it wasn't with the rest of the Attacktix) was the Spider Man 3-themed set. It came with the following figures

-Spiderman Mega - Spiderman was on a full-sized streetlamp with a building in the middle. Two street signs were the weak points, similar to the weak points on the Gunship and Jabba.

-Sandman Mega - Made to look like that scence that looks like its from "The Mummy," Sandman looks like he might be both a striker and a launcher. Weak spots similar to Gunship and Jabba.

-Venom - 20 point Striker. He was bent over with his head sticking out. Looked awesome.

-New Goblin - 40 point launcher with Pumpkin bombs. Didn't look like the base allowed the tether-flight feature, but I wasn't allowed to touch so I could be wrong.

OMG! These are freaking sweet! Nice find, JarJar!

On the Marvel side, I see at least two Shield agents which will add some much needed shooting support. Mr. Fantastic apparently has a prodder attack (he has a button on top of his arm) but it'd be awesome if he could also strike since his arm looks long enough. Storm and Nightcrawler look nice. I expect Storm to have Thunderclap and Crawler to have some sort of teleportation power (probably Rescue). Iron Man looks nice, adds needed Shooter support to the Avengers, and has an effect wall. However, it sucks that he doesn't have some awesome missile. Human Torch looks nice with his unique missile. Bullseye is interesting but I have no idea what class he'll fall under, same with this new Elektra (could be villainous since that's how she started). Jean Grey is interesting but I'm not sure if the angle her shot is at is any good. Cyclops looks kinda silly but they had to make him eventually. Scorpion appears to be a downward smasher. I'm a bit disappointed with the re-releases this early in the series. Grey Hulk is pretty cool but I don't need another prodder Wolverine, Daredevil (you can just see him behind Hulk but he appears to be ten points) or Web-Blast Spider-Man. That's all eighteen figures, by the way.

Interesting stuff there, darthmonkey. Can you describe what you'd think the Spidey Mega does? Is Venom the same as the uppercut one? By "New Goblin" I assume you mean a "movie-accurate" version, correct?

Star Wars is interesting. It's nice to see that Plo Koon isn't on that tiny base we saw before. 10 Point Yoda! Say it's so! Perhaps he'll have an effect that does something negative? Anyways, Emperor also has the effect thingermajig. Very, very cool.

Transformers didn't get much in images, apparently. So many Force Blasts in one set leads me to believe they'll change the missiles eventually. Still, I so called the G1 figures being in the starter set in the old TF S2 thread!

In conclusion, I am incredibly glad I'll be able to get a job this summer because I want every single one of these new figures!

I bet it'll be a while before we see these in stores. Usually after these make an appearance at a convention, they come out 2-3 months or so later - but that's just from my memory.

Have to start saving up for the Spring trips to Target/Wal-Mart!

They did a nice job on these figures - I can't wait!

Okay, now I've looked at my pictures again.

Venom is freakin' awesome, more awesome than I thought. It's NOT the uppercut one, it's an all new sculpt. He's bent over, like I said, and the button is on HIS BACK. He's a launcher and he shoots something out of his mouth! They didn't have the missile in his mouth on display, but it's a 20-point figure, so it can't be too big or complex.

"New Goblin", despite being a rather weak name choice, is what the movie version is being called. Everything they had of Harry Osborne's Goblin today was called "New Goblin." Upon further inspection, he does have the tether string flight attack feature just like the existing Green Goblin figure...but it's an all new sculpt.

Okay, here's how Spiderman works, I think. On the base is the top of a building. On top of the building is a flag pole. Spidey hangs out from the flagpole via a long webrope. It APPEARS that you probably flick Spidey and he swings the whole circumference of his base, meaning that if he gets surrounded by a bunch of opposing figures, he can swing around and take them all out. I REALLY wish I could upload pictures tonight.

For Sandman, his right hand is very large (think Tarful and Chewbacca from SWS1, only it's a Mega), and it looks designed to whack things. His left hand is a launcher with a medium missile sandblast (not a force blast).

I hope these are decent descriptions! It looks like an AWESOME set!

Get those pictures of the Marvel Megas up if you have them... Let's also break the Marvel Series 2 into a new thread, so we can discuss them, like we did when Hasbro released the new pics.

Yes, I too see yellow Daredevil in there...

I also see a TF with an effect base.

I noticed five flying figures in these sets, and I think that's pretty cool. Storm, Ironman, Human Torch, Starscream (Jet) and Whirl - which will be great, since Whirl has two missiles and only costs 30 points!

I think the Marvel set looks outstanding! Some of the Star Wars ones look pretty good, but there's no question which line is now my favorite.
