Yeah, I saw Brian and talked to him for a while, we talked about my career aspirations, families, laser tag, you know, normal stuff. But he set me up to talk to some guts from marketing...and not lackeys either, these guys are in charge, they run the Hasbro booth and have been on the panels for years. I'll have to find my notes, but the basic conversation is Attacktix were "supposed" to be in stores next year, but some distributor/retailer/or other aspect in the chain fell through. And they looked really irritated about it. They thought they were going to get them out, but some company/organization who they would not name didn't do their part and now we are waiting again.
They did say that they could not get them out within the year, it can't be done. So, they are optimistic about a 2011 re-launch. Details need to be worked out, but they are hopeful.
People liked my Attacktix hat, but most of the Hasbor people had seen it last year, (they liked it then too). But there was a guy from marketing who re3ally liked the game and we talked for a while. Nice guy.

So, did they really sound like it's a go, or is it something they "might" get around to?
I guess if we have to wait another 1 1/2 years, that's fine. Think the games dead now, just wait another 1 1/2 years.....LOL!

Well... This is slightly good news I suppose. 2011 anybody?... Wait, that means we only have maybe a year to enjoy them once again before the end of the world in 2012... lol
Looks like that hopeful comment I made about 2 months ago could've turned into a reality, if it weren't for that supposed hiccup that Hasbro encountered.
With this news in mind, it's interesting to think about which figures may be included in the 2011 series'. Hopefully the "old-new" molds won't be scrapped in favor of "new-new" molds. Time will tell, but either way it's good to see a small amount of light at the end of this very long tunnel!

I tried to convince them to release a small amount of the unreleased figures to the gaming community who really want them. They responded "absolutely not". I was irritated and asked why, they told me that WOULD kill Attacktix. I kept asking because it didn't make any sense to me. ...but their explanation made sense. If they did a limited release, the sales figures would be small. It would show that Attacktix is not a big money maker (which we know it to be from SW series 1-3, as seen by the many sequels), to make sure that the game makes it to market they are going to launch it big. Otherwise, people in the company that make the final decisions about which toys get on toy store shelves will be forced to not sell Attacktix because the most recent data would show very limited sales.
So...be happy we haven't seen a small amount of tix. ;P I know, it is disappointing, but at least they are thinking about the future.

I can understand this (to a point). Yes the $$ sales figures might be low, but if you looked at it another way if a small set sold out you would have 100% sales - pretty good sales figures to me.
How about looking at this from another perspective. For years Transformers & G.I. Joe collector/fan clubs have been able to license/rent/borrow (not sure exactly how it works) molds to produce a limited amount of custom convention exclusives like this...
Why can't we (or a somewhat larger fan community/organization) get a small boxed set of biker scouts painted like Episode 3 camo clone troopers or other cobbled together, re-painted figures? Definitely something to look into.

Well, a possible relaunch in 2011 is better than nothing. It's worth the wait. It's not like I'm going to outgrow the game - hell, I've been playing with toys since the freakin 1970's!!!!
